Trucker etiquette…?

I do a quick toot-toot on the city horn at active places I know people are walking around in, like a place that requires drivers to walk to and from the office—especially in front of the docks. I use my hazards only when I'm setting up for and backing up, and in my mind I like to think that's saying 'pay extra attention to me, I'm doing something weird'. Well, weirder or more unpredictable than just driving through a yard like one would be doing on a street. I dislike places that require you to have hazards on at all times in yards. It nullifies the effect when there's hazards flashing everywhere, even if a truck is sitting still. I think the same could happen with honking all/every the time. It could just become background noise. However, safe backing isn't only the driver's responsibility. Those walking/driving around a backing truck also need to be cautious and not put themselves into a situation where an accident could happen. Don't walk behind a truck setting up to back up—and put your damn phone away.
