Another recent pickup. Just happened to have the original keyboard for this in my collection, I just didn't know it at the time I got the desktop and monitor ☺️ just need to track down an original mouse now. Colour quality on the monitor is really impressive too!

Crappy computer, but what style (I had one of those back in 1999).
The monitor with speakers included was awesome.

What are the specs?

Oh man, what. I’ve been restoring one of those desktop towers. Now I want the whole set T_T

Still have (most of) one of the Compaq versions.

I daily drive an MX50 as my second monitor! It's such a good tube.

My very dear monitor. I use it as a literal desktop monitor lmao, polk speakers and everything. Fun fact for people in this thread, it also comes with a built in microphone that performs fairly okay.

I also use my MX70 with my Optiplex PC and next to it is the matching Pavilion 7865 tower that I turn on from time to time. Got the entire setup for $25. It even has the original bundled Deskjet printer. I'll have to try out that integrated microphone sometime for sure. Might post it when I clean up my PC workbench area.

I think that it was on this era where dual monitor computers started to get popular, i think that with a compatible video adapter you can make a dual Crt setup

It’s awful. I love it.

Beautiful. Show us the desktop please and all the bloatware and screensaver.

I've got my modern build inside one of that series of hp towers (the full size not the mid tower though), every few years I'd upgrade the components. I tried all sorts of cases over the years but I always come back to this one.
What do you think about the weight of the steel? Lives up to the Hp battle ship grey color.

That's the way! My grandma had one fairly similar to this back in the 90's. Her's was a Pentium 1 though, with passive cooling. I did the same for her for years - keeping the case and upgrading the components within. They're built like tanks. This being a mid tower isn't too bad - but still, for its size - she's weighty

Oh...now I know why my MX50 has those holes in the sides. I need to find those Polk Audio speakers!

I have a similar model that I purchased a week ago, I love the aesthetic of it. Unfortunately I need to source a new sfx power supply for it

My family inherited a similar model from a neighbor around 2003. The keyboard outlived the rest of the setup by decades (and still hasn't died).
