We are reaching a point where the era of black cases and monitors has been longer than the era of beige cases and monitors.

Just thought that was interesting.

Just wish they'd bring back plain beige boxes like in the late 80s. Or at least offer white cases Without the damn TG panels.

Have you seen the SilverStone FLP-01 & FLP-02 cases?
AdministrativeMap9@reddit
Yes! Sadly I've no budget grab them right now. Just wish more places follows this lead or made it more normal. Many kudos to silverstone for sure!

I have. And It makes me really want a decent selection of retro items like a retro gaming mouse and keyboard combo. I'd also like a monitor in retro color without having to paint it myself.

I know I've seen a few retro inspired keyboards, not so much on mice & monitors.
Unicomp makes reproduction Model M keyboards (the best keyboard ever made). I have an original I need to give some TLC. I used to have it set up at work its amazing to type on.

Is it time to bring back simulated wood grain yet?

I remember being a mid 90's kid and my dad spray painting a scuffed, sun-yellowed beige case black. It looked nice at first, until the pair started flaking off the bezel and every corner.

spare a thought for the bare aluminium cases 2001-2003 rip in pieces

I have one of those. They’re very nice to work on, especially if you get one that has a removable motherboard tray.

I've been computing since late 90s and I've never had a black case. Warm white and pure white always.

Zomg. I remember in the 90’s having to spray paint my case because I was tired of beige. My parents and friends were shocked as it was a bit out of character for me. 2 years later packard-bell started bringing out their black workstations and then everything was black.

I started my black case era back in late 1984 with my ZX Spectrum ;)

I can usually tell roughly what decade an episode of law and order was filmed in when they get back to the station, thanks to beige case vs black case and crt monitor vs black case and lcd monitor.

Ahhh yes. The era of brown dried up sweat, skin cells and human/food grease. The age of yellow UV damaged and nicotine-stained facias.
Not to say it's better now. The stuff of secrestions and leavings is still there, we can't see it as well as before.
