Just got the Magician Alpha - wow! Also, how does one lock this thing up?

First off, the thing is massive! I thought we were going to be getting something rather smallish but this thing is a beast! Have only made a couple of runs on it so far but it is damn speedy.
Some cons thus far:
- The headlamp doesn't work as of yet but I'm still trying to figure it out.
- The instructions aren't the best
- Charger has yet to show up as of this writing (got the bike two days ago)
- Can't seem to find out to change the speed ramp. Right now if you pull the throttle all the way it will go all the way. Maybe it's a plus but as a new user it is a little jarring
Anyone have recco's about how to secure this thing?
If anyone has any question I'd be happy to to respond

I see that this was posted 7 months ago, but you can change your bike from class 2, class 3 or unlimited in the settings. You can also download the Bafang app and change power output limits to each mode (eco, stealth, sport, boost, etc) to increase/limit top speed, acceleration, and power draw. It definitely makes the bike a little more sporty.
I_SAY_FUCK_A_LOT__@reddit
I think making it more "sporty" would turn that fucker into a bad time as I've heard that they go pretty fucking fast

Did they include the 3-inch wide 29 inch tires/wheels? Those are free for awhile and are better for street use. Anything new to report?

If you order the Atlas after November 8, you get the bike for $1,999, and the fenders/basket package for free, during their Black Friday sale. It just showed up on their website today.
droric@reddit
There doesn't seem to be any special link for the black Friday sale. Did your purchase state those items were included when you checked out?
Ultimate_Driving@reddit
I ordered mine before the Black Friday sale began, so I'm not sure how it works.
droric@reddit
I just ordered mine after hearing back from support. They assured me that just buying the bike during black Friday ensures you will get the free wheels. They are out of stock so I'll get my bike next week but the free wheels won't arrive until December.

Awesome! I can't wait to hear about it when you receive it. I got the Alpha, but kind of wish I had gotten the Atlas, because I don't need the extra speed the Alpha is capable of.
droric@reddit
I'll try to remember š. I went with the Atlas since I have a max of 80 lbs per bike on my ebike rack and the Alpha was way over 80 lbs and the Atlas is like 87 lbs which I think should be close enough.
Consistent-Mouse-612@reddit
Thatās the Magician Atlas that gets the other set of wheels and tires. The Alpha just gets the one set of 26x4ās.
theatrenearyou@reddit
My mistake. Have you been happy with the service you received? I would inquire about putting 3-inch wide tires on your wheels.
Consistent-Mouse-612@reddit
I havenāt received the bike yet, but it did just ship. When I ordered it, the website said it would ship around the end of November, so Iām pleased that itās on its way three weeks earlier than I originally expected. Iāll look into 3-inch tires. I wonder how differently it would ride with the 29ā wheels, but swapping wheels on the Alpha would require swapping the motor every time you swap wheels (advantage of the Atlasās mid-drive motor. I may still have to get one of those.)

Mine just arrived today. First thoughts: It is amazing. It's so quiet, and picks up speed so smoothly and quickly. But it's disappointing that there are so few places where I can safely take advantage of what it can truly do. However, I was aware of that fact before I ordered it, and this was exactly the feeling I was afraid of. I'm going to play around with the settings to get it to chill out a bit in Stealth and Eco modes, and see what kind of range I can get out of it. My chargers and batteries came together in the same box, separate from the bike. Have your chargers and replacement headlight shown up yet?

is the bike too big? itās certainly a big bike ik but worried it may be too big for busy bike lanes etc? did you not want to wait for the alleged mini model ? they are advertising improvements from the alpha in a smaller size seems like it would be a no brainer depending on cost
Consistent-Maybe-Yes@reddit (OP)
It is on the larger size. Not sure if it is too big for bike lanes. Depends on the location of the bike lane. Like NYC bike lane when it's crowded, yeah, it may be too big. Going down a major road with little bike traffic but 4 lanes of /r/fuckcars, probably not. It is sturdy AF though.
Haven't looked into the mini but will do since my friend is on the small side (recovering from cancer) and them riding this thing looks almost comical. But I will be checking it out
