Ration from 8-5-2025 blt with canned bacon

A ration from back in august. Took pictures to text a friend to gross him out.
Opened a pint can of home canned bacon. Fried it up, never gets crispy, just hot and goopy. Buttercrunch bibb lettuce from the yard and 2 fat tomatoes from yard. Was using up lettuce as it was bolting and getting a bitter taste.
Sliced bread coated in mayonnaise for top and bottom. Once hot the bacon was rolled into a ball of paper towels to remove as much fat as possible otherwise it drips all over. Then splatted on the tomatoes.
Was not great but was acceptable.
I got the bacon cheap from a Mennonite store, yoders brand ends and pieces in 3lb frozen packs for $5 each. The odd size left overs trimmed from packing regular bacon.
I pack the bacon in pints then pressure can for 90 minutes at 15lh pressure.
Not doing anything new today so sharing old stuff that you may find shitty

That actually looks delicious

Do you live in a trap house because that kitchen looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years

Whats a trap house?
Last cleaned the stove today after everyone commented on it, before that it was april, before that it was November.
Sacraficed a wool sock each time.

A trap house is a run-down drug house--people wait to buy their drugs, sometimes do their drugs on premises if they have friends running the show, engage in other illegal things.

Naw, my place aint that clean lol

Ha! . . .
My local library has Trap Kitchen: Bangin' Recipes from Compton. 4.5 stars at a certain online retailer. I wanna make "Skrrrrrt Steak" and "All In My Grill Salmon".
Mental-Ad-6958@reddit
Why are you using a wool sock?!

OP said in another comment: dry cabin & extreme poverty habits

I use what i got. I will not buy anything made to be thrown out, thats vile and offensive to me (yeah im an environmental extremist). I have no way to wash a rag to remove grease, once its in it stays in.
I refuse to use petroleum products or other chemicals except as a last resort.
When i have to clean i use the least valuable thing i can use. Usually wait till i have something worn out (like my socks that have holes in them) then do the cleaning. But i had to use a sock yhat i could have got another month out of (worn very thin, but not worn out yet).

Looks tasty to me, but I can not tolerate the slightest bit of bitterness from bolting, for whatever reason.

Whatever happened to shame? Not only do you live this disgustingly, but you had no problem sharing it with random people. Gross. Have some respect for yourself and clean up.
dingdongwashboard@reddit
were these pictures taken on a DS goddamn

Do people just not clean their oven etc?
I get it’s bad food but there has to be some sort of cleanliness
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
I suppose that also makes it look shitty too lol
I clean once a year
Humble_Fishing_5328@reddit
you don’t need plumbing to clean a stove 🤣
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
Suppose i could build a ramp to let my dogs up there, let them deal with the grease jk lol
MapleBaconNurps@reddit
Wipe as you go, use putty scrapers or spatulas to scrape off the baked on shit.
Mother_Bag_3114@reddit
Wipes, spray bottles, a dry towel, your hands. All can clean without water.
Room_Temp_Coffee@reddit
Are you completely off grid? Is that a dumb question because you're on the internet? Lol
messedupmessup12@reddit
Ever try getting the bacon warm and draining it then cooking out? I feel like it would do better but this is just speculation
Toiretachi@reddit
Stove pics need a NSFL
Hot-Explanation-5751@reddit
Butter your damn bread
astoldbyme@reddit
Please clean that stove, my goodness that is disgusting. If you clean as you go, you can avoid this altogether.
A rag, soap and water.
elonmusktheturd22@reddit (OP)
No plumbing. No way to wash grease from a rag. Hand was my laundry in a bucket.
Its a significant undertaking to clean anything.
Heck, a bath can take up to 7 hours, gathering and heating water on the stove, melting snow and ice, etc.
astoldbyme@reddit
I hear ya and I wish you the best, just know that you'd enjoy your space more if it were clean.
Disinfecting wipes or something of the sort might be really helpful.
Shoddy-Confusion13@reddit
respectfully, how long would it take to pour vinegar on that stovetop, wipe down with towel, gather 1 pot of snow and boil towel?
nehla01@reddit
the sandwiches look great! i think adding some salt and pepper to the tomatoes would be a game changer!
