Thank god it rained hard. That could have spread easily as our houses have a shared alley way with lots of trees and fences. Shout out to Grand Prairie Fire Department. Heard the fire truck horn around the same time I smelled the fire. House didn’t collapse but fire burned most the roof off. Only took about 15 minutes for the house to be gone. So terrifying.
Yeah, south Fort Worth, over by Forrest Hill/35W is the one I saw. I keeo hearing about a 2nd one, but I'm not sure if it was in the same location or not.
Yeah I saw some wind damage over by Beltline/Valwood area, west of 35E, but wasn't sure if that was where it was located or not.
I was up and down all through the night, I had my window open for the cool air, but there was a weird bit of time where I could feel the wind was coming from the S/SW, then it went dead, then it suddenly changed and got a lot faster, coming S, then it shifted from the SE (I had to clip my curtains to my bed, it was so hard), then just straight E. It felt like the barometric pressure dropped during that, too, then went back to normal after it passed. I didn't see any radar rotation by me (Lewisville/Flower Mound border, near 1171), but it damn sure felt like there was some. We have some tree limbs and fences down in my neighborhood, but not as much damage as some of the storms earlier this year.
It looks like everything today is staying south of me, so yay, my joints get to have a rest.
Opened my window the moment it started raining. Luckily it's under an awning and the wind is blowing the other way. Even heavy rainfall and thunder can be calming to me
I love not living in NW DFW in grapefruit sized hail and tornado alley. It mostly all dissipates to non-property destroying wind by the time it passes through the Dallas corridor.
Sucks if you live substantially north of PGB tollway and west of DNT though. It’s straight up Kansas through there.
No I absolutely have been looking forward to going on the patio with the dog who doesn’t mind thunder and just watching Mother Nature with a drink my doggo and some music
A streamer by the name Max Velocity who's very accurate. Was looking at all his radars and it had every sign of a tornado. Started in south Ft.Worth.possibly happened in Carrollton as well.
I’m driving southbound 35 to Austin, inadvertently following the leading edge of the storm for over an hour. Torrential rain and high winds. This is the worst storm I’ve ever driven in. Would not recommend.
The severity of Texas/Oklahoma storms is to be taken seriously. Texans have faced an increase in the intensity and frequency of dangerous weather events in recent years, including deadly hurricanes, severe winter storms, flash floods, and derechos. This trend is attributed to climate change, which has led to a warmer Gulf of Mexico and, consequently, more moisture in the air that fuels extreme weather. As a result, the state is experiencing more billion-dollar weather disasters than ever before.

Just drove up 75 and stopped at the McD drive-thru in the way. The only difficult part was not getting blinded by all the people who turn on their flashing yellow lights.
Every couple of months I always get the rainx on the inside and outside of my windshield. So the droplets just glide off without using the wipers. Then of course driving the speed limit avoiding the right lane so I don’t hydroplane.
The storm is very strong…get off the road and get indoors. Rumors of a tornado appear to be false but the winds are very high - with something having activated the building alarms on the Frost Tower.

Not fake news, there should have been notifications about tornado warnings, NWS failed here to notify the people. It was spotted on radars.
NikkiVicious@reddit
Yeah, south Fort Worth, over by Forrest Hill/35W is the one I saw. I keeo hearing about a 2nd one, but I'm not sure if it was in the same location or not.
Skydog69@reddit
Suspected second one was based on rotation on radar near west Carrollton traveling NE, but if there was one it wasn’t on the ground for long
NikkiVicious@reddit

Drive safe!! Turn on hazards and go slow!
James-the-Bond-one@reddit
I find them more dangerous because hazard lights override turn signals, so other drivers cannot tell if you’re planning to turn or change lanes.
zekesaltspider@reddit
Not for all cars. I have a Mercedes and when I turn my blinker on, it automatically turns off the hazards until my blinker is off
James-the-Bond-one@reddit
It was about time an automaker thought of that.
sealclubberfan@reddit
Hazards dont help in rain, stop spreading that false narrative.
Sparta63005@reddit
Yes they do. Makes seeing cars in front of you WAY easier.
Desperate-Bid-4292@reddit
Yea clump together driving real slow 40 in a 70.

Desperate-Bid-4292@reddit
To clarify: reduced speed doesn’t matter if you’re clumped together which happens every time it rains like this

I have a strong feeling this is a joke and deserves to be upvoted not down
