Tips on driving in Mountains/Snow?

it’s ok to drive in snow but it’s even more ok (arguably the best decision) to park if you feel unsafe. that said, if you’re a realistic person, it never feels 100% safe. so if you’re gonna try, have as much waterproof gear as possible, esp gloves and boots. winter coat. set of high vis coveralls is a good idea. make sure you have the right size chains and practice putting them on - youtube is great for learning. and have a few extra - esp if you’re new to it there’s a chance you’ll lose some along the way. extra supplies in case you get stranded for a few days. in terms of driving in snow, keep it slow, use hazards, keep windows cracked to listen for odd noises/chains still on. more weight is better. the lighter you are the more cautious you should be. with enough weight your drives will have shockingly good traction. oh and keep the axle interlock on. most chains say 30 mph max, stick to that and it’s a lot easier than you’d think. oh and avoid jakes at stage 3 altogether, only use 1, maybe 2, only in a straight line combined with brakes, if at all. mountain driving is fairly straightforward. mind signs, use your jake to control your speed on downhills, stop and check your brakes/let them cool. it’s hard for me to give mountain advice without specific questions cuz i’ve been driving donner basically the whole time i’ve been driving but im happy to answer anything you wanna know in particular. hope all this helps
