Did anyone go to the grand opening of the HMart in Royal Ln Dallas?

Any news? Pics? I can't go until Sunday!

Parking is hell, if you see someone leaving, take it.

I drove by today 9am, parking was full. I guess I will drop by in a week!

yeah def recommend it. I'm assuming the free stuff is done too cause they gave away free totes in the beginning opening day but when I went back in the evening (after parking hell waiting for 25ish min for a spot) they were all gone.

Just FYI for today (10/25/2025), they still have the free stuff by the tents and there are plenty left. The line was not that bad at around 12:30 PM. I waited like 25-30 minutes to get in. FYI, you might have better luck parking on the mall right next to it near harry hines.

I parked across the street, the parking on that side of the street had a huge line. The worst part is trying to cross the road. I ended up getting frustrated going back to my car and walking at the Harry Hines and Royal light. The crossing light does not work at all and the button to press it is abnormally far from the area you cross. Hoping the H-Mart does help develop the surrounding place.

Dang. I guess it makes sense... the crowd was picking up when I was leaving. I guess the church crowd got out. For sure, I wonder how that is going to work out as H-Mart might make the smaller competitors like KoMart and ShinChon go out of business.

Is it any different from the other H Marts? I saw a few TikTok reviews. Looks pretty nice, but HMart in general is awesome.
Penguinbuddy91@reddit
Naw, its smaller then the one in Carrolton but there is still alot of the same groceries and what not.

What a shit show it was

I disagree, it was pretty organized for the amount of people that was there. Check in was good, and the line was pretty fast. I went twice on opening day too with parking being the worst. You cant help the the volume of ppl that went.

There was both an entrance and an exit but they only bothered to open the exit. Pretty sure the fire Marshall would have shut that place down had he been there.

Didn't go for the grand opening but was there a day after (Friday) and if you live close enough I would give it at least a week before visiting. Biggest let down was the power going out, not just once but multiple times throughout the day. And when it happened, they would kick people out, then 10 minutes later once it was back they would let people back in only to have them leave 5 minutes late because the power went out again. We went back twice thoughout the day ( we live pretty close) and it was the same issue all day. The food court is also pure chaos. In my opinion, they weren't ready for a grand opening yet. Huge store though and so many brands/products I've never seen in other asian grocery stores. Hopefully everything gets sorted out soon!

If you’d like, show some love for Komart! It’s across the highway (in the no.1 plus chicken plaza) and has really delicious+ affordable small vendors inside
mattgoldey@reddit
Thanks for this. I didn't know that was there. I work near the Galleria, so I'll be headed over there for lunch one day next week!

Yes Komart for the win. I'll make sure to go there today and support. Really hope they can weather the Hmart storm.

My dad went for the can-can dancers (Paris Baguette).

Lol noice!

A bunch of police out front about 30 minutes ago or so
SharpAntelope9096@reddit
I believe there is a police station on the second floor of the building.
Balthazar3000@reddit
That would check out. Looked more like a hangout than anything 😂
The_Texas_Cuban@reddit
I would not go anytime soon. Parking took 20 minutes and after waiting an additional 25 min in line to enter the grocery store portion I bailed and drove to Carrolton HMart.
r3v3rs3flash@reddit
Ahh bummer, hope it isn't affecting 9 rabbits' parking
TheSpivack@reddit
I've never been to the one in Carrollton before but have always wanted to check it out. Are they pretty much the same thing on the inside? I live equidistant to both of them, so either one is good for my first HMart experience

Plano one is the most relaxed and easy to park at out of the 3
The_Texas_Cuban@reddit
Yup same with the Plano location. Different vendors in the mall section and different food court. But same model consisting of groceries, food court, & mall.
No_Motor_3543@reddit
Definitely not waiting in that line lol.
10Core56@reddit (OP)
Oh there was a line? I hope they are very busy. I want them to do good for the city.
No_Motor_3543@reddit
I hope so too and we just moved nearby , save us a trip going to Carrollton or Plano.
10Core56@reddit (OP)
Yeah that's what I like. 15 mins vs 30 mins trip.

I went in the afternoon after work. It is nice and clean (for now). Parking lot is super tight though. I was stuck in my spot for 10 minutes trying to leave because of a Cybertruck was Austin Power-ing their way out of their parking spot in front of me.
SharpAntelope9096@reddit
I pulled up around 9:45, in by 10:05. They were giving people a free gift as they walked in and depending on how much you spent they gave you additional gifts outside of the store. I took public transit and it was amazing. Love to see a good grocery store in that area.
