People who choose to rent instead of buying, what do you plan to do when you retire?

Throughout my life I've met several people who have told me that they'd never buy a house and renting is so much better because you can move around, you don't have to pay for repairs, etc. I always ask these people how they plan to continue paying rent when they retire, and their answer is always "I won't live that long." So, does everybody who believes that renting is better than buying just assume they're never going to make it to retirement age? Or are there some of you out there who are planning for your retirement and plan to continue renting? And if so, what are your plans? To be clear, I'm just talking about people who actively choose to rent instead of buy, not people who don't have any choice but to rent.
