Winter/ Fall Getaway

Looking for suggestions for a good fall or winter vacation for a friend and I (both in our early 20s) that is both cheap and will have lots of activities for us. Definitely working with a slim budget, and to stay within the US!

Where’s your origin? How many days? Are you flexible on dates? What’s your budget?

origin is in louisiana, anywhere from 4-6 days, pretty flexible on dates, but preferable during a holiday since we are both in school. and want to keep it under $2000

Wintertime it gets chilly in the northeast… maybe a road trip through the Southwest? Grand Canyon, Zion, Antelope Canyon etc

It does get chilly but that could be a feature for someone from the south. It'd be a gamble though to see if you get a beautiful powdery snow day or a windy slush puddle day.
Philly can be a cheap city to stay in, it has a bunch of activities and history, but more importantly trains that can get you to NYC in like 90 mins if you get bored. NYC has an insane amount of free and cheap activities
