Worms growing on bunker. Peconic River, New York.

Worms of some kind growing on a bunch of bunker, the affected fish seem to have a lot of damage to the scales as well. They seem to mainly be clustered around the dorsal fin and on the sides of the fish. They don’t look like anchor worms to me but I could be wrong as im just going based off of photos.

Based on what I can see it definitely looks like Lernaeenicus radiatus or anchor worm as you’ve indicated

Strong chance it’s Lernaeenicus radiatus a parasitic copepod
