I haven't seen much chatter about any of these but they were always some of my favorites. And they all have been told and retold in many ways... but these depictions are always the ones closest to my heart. I remember during my Pippi obsession, trying to watch some of the other older versions and they just didn't stack up. And the girl who played this Anne is always the only one I can ever see embodying that character. Etc. Anyone else?

Watched Little Women in the theatre with a pack of friends and all of our moms who sat in the back of the theatre while we went up to the front. We snuck in drinks and snacks (like you do) and my mom accidentally dropped a glass Snapple bottle and the bottle rolled ALL the way to the front of the theatre, clattering all the way, while my mom and the other moms cackled with laughter. I was mortified. And in writing this, now I wonder if they weren't getting a little smashed back there, lol

I adore Anne of Green Gables. Very recently I discovered the slice-of-life anime adaptation of the books. If you like the ‘85 & ‘87 movies, and can handle the really really high-pitched voice acting that is so common in anime, I can safely recommend, and hope you enjoy as well.

The only acceptable Pippi Longstockng is the Swedish original with Inger Nilsson from the 60s and 70s. I have seen Anne of Green Gables, Secret Garden and Little Woman, all good. Not watched what ever BS Pippi movie that is.

I prefer the Hallmark version of The Secret Garden with Gennie James as Mary, but agree with the others, especially Anne of Green Gables. I met Meagan Follows a few weeks ago!
