Similar experiences/events between both shows

You may have noticed that the famous four have been through similar experiences. For instance:
Royalty for a day:
Xena stands in for her lookalike Princess Diana in Warrior... Princess and Warrior... Princess... Tramp
While Iolaus stands in for his identitcal cousin Orestes in King For A Day and Long Live The King.
Gabrielle (although technically she is Amazon royalty) was briefly a queen in Blind Faith.
Xena and Hercules became royalty after being afflicted with Amnesia. Hercules lost his memory and became Prince Hercules, and Xena lost her memory and became queen Wealtheow in Return of the Valkyrie.
We could also say that Xena stood in for Cleopatra herself in Anthony and Cleopatra, while Herc pretended to be his evil doppelganger The Soveriegn in Stranger and Stranger.
Put on Trial:
Xena was put on trial in The Trial and Locked Up and Tied Down. Iolaus was put through some grueling tasks to prove his innocence in King of Thieves, and Hercules was put on trial in the episode titled, surprisingly enough, Hercules on Trial, and was tried as a warlock in wicked Good Time. Our innocent Gabrielle got to avoid being put on trial, but she was nearly burned as a witch in Gabrielle's Hope, and she got to sit on the bench of an Amazon trial in Path of Vengeance.
Blindness:
Hercules was blinded in As Darkness Falls, and Xena was blinded in Blind Faith.
Shot by Cupid's arrows:
Herc was accidently shot by Cupid in Green Eyed Monster, and Xena and Gabrielle were struck by Cupid's arrows by Aphrodite's trigger-happy grandson in Comedy of Eros.
Shot by Normal arrows:
Xena took a crossbow bolt in Chariots of War and Hercules took on in Mother of All Monsters. Gabrielle got a poisoned arrow in One Against An Army. Iolaus seems to have a knack for evading projectile attacks!
Diversion Tactics:
Iolaus pretended to be a leperous seer to get past the guards in Highway to Hades, and Gabrielle pretended to be a drunken wife to get herself arrested in When In Rome.
Fairy Tales:
Gabrielle Xenafies the story of Cinderella in If The Shoe Fits, and Hercules and Autolycus were two Jacks climbing a beanstalk in Beanstalks and Bad Eggs.
Dead Loved Ones:
Hercules reconnected with his dead wife and children in The Other Side and When A Man Loves A Woman. Xena reuntied with Marcus in Mortal Beloved, and found Solan's spirit in God Fearing Child. Iolaus got to reconcile with his dad in Not Fade Way. Gabrielle mentioned meeting her grandmother and Talis when she was briefly dead in Is There Adoctor In The House?
I see dead people:
Hercules teamed up with a ghost that only he could communicate with in Highway to Hades. Gabrielle was the only one who could perceive Ephiny's ghost in Last of the Centaurs.

Nice list!
Iolaus got shot by The Hind, so he did not miss out on being almost killed by a projectile. :) (I mean, he actually did get killed by a projectile, even if that was a dagger instead of an arrow.)
Which brings up another similarity. Three of them are very fond of getting killed xD
And they've all been possessed. :D
Gotta love a good trope!

ah, I forgot about Iolaus being shot by Serena in Encounter! Thankfully she healed him afterwards. Hercules also got arrowed in Judgement Day, and his injuries were treated by Xena. Xena also treated Gabrielle's wound in One Against An Army, and she treated her own injury in Chariots of War. Herc seemed to "walk off" his wound in Mother of All Monsters, I guess since the bolt was crafted by Hephaestus, it must have been self-cauterizing, so there wasn't any bleeding to worry about.
Yes, demonic possession is another one!
Gabrielle got possessed by Tataka in Devi, Iolaus was possessed by Dahak for a big chunk of season 5, Xena was a demon in Fallen Angel, and Herc was bedevilled in De Deviled. Gabrielle was also briefly demonized in Fallen Angel, and was possessed by Mephistopheles in Haunting of Amphipolis. Poor Gabs!

It's almost like they shared writers and producers and creators. Whoa......

Very cool seeing the commonalities listed!! I love the “blind” episodes of both shows so much for some reason!
