Howdy neighbor! Looks like a great day. Did you stay the night in Newburyport?
Rootledge@reddit
Looking good! Would live to sail one day.

10-13 kts with huge swells. Beam reach the whole way. Great day to sail.

I bet she loved that. My 25D was amazing in 15 kts.

Wait!!!! You are the one who had the green 25D right? She’s beautiful!!! What happened to her? Did you sell her? I commented on your post back when you got your boat and said I wanted one as well.

Couldn't have asked for better weather for that trip.

Looks like an excellent day on the water. Is the gelcoat too thick like on my CD28 trawler?
yelruh00@reddit (OP)
I'm not sure. Mine looks fine. I don't see any drip marks or sagging. Is that what you are referring to?

Mostly crazing of the gelcoat, it’s very common on the Cape dory model I have. Pretty much the only flaw :P

I see! There’s some crazing. I mean, it’s a 1984 so there’s bound to be some. For this age boat it’s in amazing shape though. Nothing a bit of sanding and repainting can’t cure.

Cool boat! I'm a sucker for 'small big boats' - smaller boats with the features of big boats. You've got a great example.

Thanks! I am in love with this boat, and the lady driving it too. it can handle anything.
Some parts of the teak are flaking off. I'm hauling her out this week and bringing her to my house to do some work to her. Some of which will be sanding and varnishing those flaking areas.
