How much should I spend on a car?

Hey guys, what’s up?
So, I posted earlier this week on the e60 community about wanting to buy a bmw 550i.
Got mixed responses, some people said I would go broke and others said it was worth the experience.
It got me thinking, how much money is too much to spend in a car? I mean, of course each person has their own unique financial situation, some people like cars, others don’t and a lot of other factors.
Then I got myself thinking about my own situation: I’m 23, got myself an apartment, also a piece of land/lot, a bmw f30, no debt, and I have about 100k in “cash”.
That being said, I wanna buy another car, with a bigger engine and maybe with a manual transmission. Still wanna keep the f30 to daily.
Should I really fulfill my “wants” or am I being irresponsible?
I don’t have a wife nor kids

Buying a BMW 550i is retarded. Do some research

you're being retarded.
land is nothing without a homestead. building a home costs money. you currently rent an apartment. you already have another car.

I assume you can’t read bro… I said I have an apartment (3 parking slots), so, I have a home and I don’t pay rent 🤓 I also have the land, two separate and distant properties.

what does "got myself an apartment" mean to you?
are you trying to say you have an investment property you rent out or do you rent an apartment?

Im in Canada and apartment/condo are used interchangeably, it has nothing to do with renting, its just a unit in a building. Some people will call a townhouse a condo too but I think that’s just to make a point that it’s not a standalone house

for the record, i consider canadians to be classy americans.
thanks for scott thompson.

Lol, we gave you Jordan Peterson and Justin beaver so we can call it even

That’s what I thought from the beginning, didn’t knew it was a whole different thing in the US.
Me and the other dude just going at each other throats for nothing lol

It means I bought an apartment(unit), and I live in it, isn’t it? (Not rhetorical, English is not my first language)
I bought the land as a real estate investment, maybe to construct a warehouse or other commercial building in the future and then rent it.
Just saw your edit, I think you are correct, for Americans it would be a condo.

welp, we've reached the following status: - if you're american, you're retarded. - if you're british, you're sophisticated with refined taste.
pretty consistent theme in life.
