You absolutely should, they're a blast to just rip around on. They're not the fastest like lasers, but super quick to rig. From spars in bag i can be out on the water in 5 minutes.
You can get them for pretty cheap, I think this one was a few hundred and was sailable from the get. I've just upgraded and repaired things as they broke. All said I probably have less than $1k put into the boat.

Hi, italian ssilor here, we have a 20 boats subfish class association and I can confirm that the sunfish is better when running downwind because it has not the tendenze to capzise eqsily like the laser, when going upwind, the gooseneck allows to regulate the fore part of the sail to control the tendenze of the boat to head into

That’s excellent. I used to sail them as a kid and recently sailed one as a refresher at a friend’s place. I just love the simplicity of the boats to rig and go

Yeah, it probably wasn't the smartest decision looking back on it. I probably shouldn't tell you the go pro was on one without a tether too 😂. It at least had a floaty.

So, looking back at my data, it apparently was a glitch while on land, so top speed was in the 10s, but still was crazy. Had sustained 15kt winds, gusting up to 25.
