Amazing 😍🤩
jamesbest7@reddit
This must be Portland, Maine. Everyone knows Portland, OR is burning to the ground thanks to the naked terrorists biking around the city like they own the place. 🤣
MechanicJay@reddit (OP)
lol. We did get the Portland Bagpiper riding and playing through the convention hall at one point!
uberRegenbogen@reddit
It's nice to see Tennis For Two represented.
MechanicJay@reddit (OP)
It was fun to see people sit down and really play it. As I was say all weekend, "Tennis for Two is a great testament to the fact that people have been using very expensive scientific equipment to play games for 70 years!"
uberRegenbogen@reddit
That's going into my quotes file. ☺
Apprehensive-Page-96@reddit
Really wish I could go. This looks so cool.
RicardoDawson@reddit
Anyone knows what the last computer with the big keyboard in the video is?
MechanicJay@reddit (OP)
Televideo TS803. Runs CP/M.
RicardoDawson@reddit
Thanks!! I remember using CP/M on my Commodore 128D to learn Pascal programming.
Maklarr4000@reddit
Fantastic stuff!

Miss this period

Nice

Where is it in Poland?
DrFrancisBGross@reddit
It isn't Poland. It's Oregon. USA.
Long-Description-434@reddit
It's amazing to see those equipments alive and kicking!
Oh, and I wonder if the two PC with Doom were ready for some Deathmatch, hehe...
MechanicJay@reddit (OP)
Ha! That was the whole point of those two Win98 boxes, to have folks play Doom DeathMatch. I'd set it all up, and the first thing people would do when they sat down was exit and start a new single player game. lol
A few times I was able to convince people to do some real multiplayer, but it turns out most people just weren't that into it. Oh well!
MechanicJay@reddit (OP)
If anyone is in the Puget Sound region, you can come check some of these out in person at the museum in Tukwila. Http://icm.museum
IAmTheFishiestFish@reddit
I have the same oscilloscope seen at 0:14 from the end. It needs some work to get it operational, but it's so cool to see one working
onlinedisguise@reddit
I can smell this room
unrealgeforce@reddit
This is so freaking cool.. I would spend so much time there gawking over everything lol
mrspelunx@reddit
🥲 I love this.
UnderstandingFlat407@reddit
I was there. That one guy was selling an Atari 1040st in box. I was so close to buying it. But I loved all the old computers
catsynth@reddit
Damn, an Atari ST is one I am actually looking for, as a musician interested in old computers from my youth.
UnderstandingFlat407@reddit
Thought it was a great deal at 260 but already spent to much there. I’ve been wanting one with matching monitor
catsynth@reddit
That sounds like a good price to me. But I totally get the "having spent too much" at a convention. I was recently at one for modular synthesizers and spent a fair amount there and in the aftermath.
catsynth@reddit
Looks like a lot of fun! Wish it wasn't a 10-hour drive away.
Inode1@reddit
Plane tickets are cheaper then the gas to drive it. The show was well worth the time to go.
Complete-Jicama891@reddit
So clean
JizzMaxwell@reddit
What is the dark grey system playing Galanga?
MechanicJay@reddit (OP)
That is a NABU. Folks have reverse engineered the protocol so the game servers and connected nature of the system can be fully experienced!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NABU_Network
JizzMaxwell@reddit
Oh man, I would have loved the NABU as an 80’s kid. Didn’t get a modem until 7th grade after begging my parents for years.
GonoMicrowave@reddit
All the fun computers and electronics! Thanks for sharing the video with us!
