Is this a nice area to live in: East of S. Greenville Ave, South of Centennial Blvd, West of Abrams Rd, and north of Buckingham Rd?

I am considering an area to buy a house: East of S. Greenville Ave, South of Centennial Blvd, West of Abrams Rd, and north of Buckingham Rd. For those familiar with this part of town — how’s the neighborhood overall? Is it a nice and safe area to live in, and how are the surrounding neighborhoods?
Thanks a lot for any insights!

East Richardson is very nice in general. I live north of the Kroger on Audelia and Centennial. Its as safe as suburbs can be. I walk my dog for a few miles in all directions in the dark and have never felt anything but completely safe. All the neighborhoods around where you highlighted are nice to very nice. I imagine the occupants of the huge restland cemetery to the southwest are unlikely to cause trouble as well. Most of East Richardson is nice quiet suburb. The parts of Garland we meet up with aren't bad either. I have heard of some crime on Centennial but it does not seem to leak into the neighborhoods. It can be a bit busy but most of the businesses are nice as well. The closest bad area is the apartments on Forest in between 635 and Audelia, but thats pretty far.
Richardson has great services, there is a municipal tennis complex on the east side, and a nice rec center. The police are visible but not aggressive. The library is in a temp location but has a lot to offer, and I bet the remodel of their regular facility will be amazing. There are some decent running/biking trails around as well, they have a map posted on the city website.
There is an incredible selection of restaurants around. You have Richardson China Town a few blocks north on Greenville, tons of Mediterranean and middle eastern due to the Mosque on Abrams, great tex-mex at Amigos Acá y Allá on Belt-Line. Really anything you could want. I mostly get groceries at Kroger, and its a good one, there are other options not too far. Lowes and Super Target on Plano Rd. Albertsons and Home Depot a bit farther east.
I havent specifically been in the block of housing you highlighted, I think some of it is gated, but it all looks very nice from the main roads. Maybe the only downside I could think of to that little block is you are a bit separated from the other neighborhoods, so if you like to walk or ride a bike a long way, you will have to cross some busy roads.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I drive past that area frequently. Centennial is busy, otherwise, the area is fine. I believe that part is Richardson, but quickly turns to Dallas once you go down Greenville. You can check crime maps for specific trends on violent and nonviolent crime but the nice houses over there lead me to believe that’s not much of an issue. You’re close to 635, 75, and tons of supermarket, restaurants will be more of a drive up Greenville especially if you’re into Chinese food. Welcome (new) neighbor.
