When I get rich I’m resto modding a liberty- it’s the perfect size and decent styling… just need to get rid of the boat anchor engine and improve the ride

I still see jeep liberties around from time to time. I don't even remember the last time I saw a freelander.

I remember how they had the bad fuel tank location and the recall solution was to weld a hitch there.

That was a bullshit case though. As most trucks and SUVs had that same tank location. It spawned from a case where a guy wasn't paying attention and rear ended one at 40mph and a child in the liberty burned to death.

Surprisingly plenty still left in Europe. Might be because most sold over there were diesel & manual models.
