In another life I will have a machine shop to make, uh, machines.

I changed my career of a decade to learn how to do this. You can make it happen

10 years ago, after 20 years I changed from theatre production to HVAC, to not starve as much after a hard day's work. I'm probably out of time to do it again. Maybe next time round.

Thanks! Yeah.. the rest of the machining is pretty simple luckily. Still a bunch of work though.

Can't wait to see it finished.

I still have a lot of work to do before Christmas, but I am getting closer! Since the last post on this sub, I have made the breech, had the trigger guard made (metal 3d printed, still needs finishing) and barrel mounted sling stud made, and have tapered the barrel and roughly polished to 280 grit. My buddy is hooking me up and milling the recoil lug on his CNC. Once that's done, I need to make the end cap of the action, do all the milling on the action, mill the secondary lug, and do the final polish before fast rust bluing.
After the metal work is done, I just need to duplicate the 3d printed pattern stock on some cheap wood so I can refine ths shape by hand. Once that's done, I can then duplicate that pattern in the actual stock wood and start finishing.
It didn't sound like a lot in my head, but typing it out... it's a lot. Hopefully I can make it happen before Christmas!!

Thanks! I'm still pretty green at machining. I got a lot of learning to do.

It's always been something I enjoyed when I took the basics waaaay back in high school (80's) always thought I could get into it but went a different route (IT Tech). +1
