What Am I Missing?

I was reading a Guns . com article about Ruger buying Anderson and the last paragraph stated that Savage Arms produced the most rifles in the US in 2023 with 639,591. What am I missing? Does Savage really sell that many bolt actions and cheap 22's? Or do they manufacture rifles for other brands?
"When speaking of rifles alone, 2023 production numbers put Massachusetts-based Savage Arms on the top of the pile with 639,591 guns, while Ruger garnered a close second place with 321,160 firearms made in its North Carolina plant and 289,791 in its New Hampshire plant, giving it a total of 610,951 rifles."

I’ve owned Savage rifles since the 60s, they’ve always been effective and reliable economy firearms. I wouldn’t be surprised at these numbers.

I have a Savage 17 HMR that I love. Savage sells a lot of rifles.

Savage axis is one of the most popular hunting rifles but that number still seems super high to me.
