I mean, come now. They didn't do anything that bad. Like, imagine if they had spray-painted a fighter plane. What's a little knife poke here and there next to the moral travesty of defacing the dignity of such a mighty piece of precision engineering?

In all seriousness, yeah, the state is never going to be motivated to safeguard its citizens in the same way it will be motivated to safeguard its multinational industries, military trade capacity, or private capital owners. We exist for the labor, and the state will invest what it perceives as the minimum quantity of resources necessary to convince a critical mass of the populace to continue providing that labor for the sake of specifically those projects that serve the state interest.

Security from murderers is a "perk" the state offers for those who choose to participate in it to its liking. But like all service providers, the state will gradually enshittify its services, and part of that is reducing and eliminating those services as much as it thinks it can get away with. But the protection of private capital? That's the reason the state exists. If these three people had plotted to sabotage a fighter jet, I suspect they would find themselves in a lot more trouble.

Well you have to say in one regard y'all gun laws atleast make it somewhat harder for these attacks to happen. It does interest me in seeing how 3d printed firearms has been slowly undermining these heavy gun control nations. We don’t hear as much of them in the states sense well...proper guns are plentiful here.
