The favourite combo of armed UK Police is the Glock /MP5 combo (although only 4 discharges at people in 24).
What's does your force/local force usually carry?

I don’t understand why in a country where guns are essentially illegal to own, would need sub machine guns patrolling the streets. All they need are batons, pepper spray, or rubber bullets to police the unarmed population. But we know it’s all for being in control. Take away the guns and the government will fail. Take away the civilians guns, and the government will be in power for years to come.

Because criminals still have guns. They disarmed the population, like the rest of Europe, but to the politicians suprise criminals don't tend to follow the law. So they still need armed response.

They are not patrolling with a submachine gun. Most of these are actually semi auto only. There’s been some talk there are a few full auto ones floating around, but I don’t think any pictures exist. Even then, it’s usually just a handgun on armed police not often are they seen carrying a MP5. It’s like equivalent to a patrol rifle in US. If I had to guess this pic was probably taken at crime scene or by royal family.
Crime still happens. Lethal force is still lethal force, so a person wielding a knife should be put down the same as someone with a gun if they mean to do harm to innocent people.
Congrats! You realized gun control doesn’t work as there is still gun crime in UK.

Yeah, we all know gun control don’t work lol. People always use the argument that if the USA got rid of guns, then Mexico wouldn’t have all the gun crimes since the USA is the main source of guns for them…… little do these people know that the cartel literally smuggles drugs worldwide….. so I don’t think it’s that hard for them to smuggle guns from Europe or China……. I mean they probably already are doing it…. Take away the guns, they’ll find ways to get guns somewhere else. Just like, drugs are illegal, yet crackheads and drug addicts are in every city in the USA…

Most cartel guns aren’t from the US, that’s just a leftist meme. We aren’t selling full auto AKs and M249s.

HK got in trouble years back for associates smuggling guns to the cartel. Also ATF and CIA supplied the cartel with guns multiple times.

Patrol rifles stay in the cars in the US. It would be highly unusual for a cop in the US to have a rifle slung at low ready walking around.

Yeah. Except when making a perimeter at a bad crime scene or when protecting government, which this probably is. You may have some guys standing around with them in certain areas, but you also had guys in NYC subway stations with patrol rifles.

Armed police are generally deployed at situations where an immediate armed response might be appropriate such as terrorism at an airport.
Generally the police are not armed, I think the total amount of bullets discharged at people is less than 20 a year so it's mostly precautionary.

In thailand police carry the 1911,glock19,cz75,320,365 or in rare case revolver in 38 spl with like 4-6 round loaded in magazine or 2 round in revolver due to chance of using firearm really low. In thailand police shot someone that means u r fuck(police) no matter what u r fuck someone charge u with a knife u shoot him u r fuck🤣. In australia i think they carry glock 21 in 40sw with no long gun.
