You guys now get our rifles again? What’s changed, does your ATF now allow them to be imported again? Also, how does a rewelded receiver hold up, doesn’t that need a new heat treatment? Anyway, congrats and enjoy!
I’m at the opposite end, I’m planning on importing a Bren Mk2 barrel to Switzerland, the necessary permits here are no problem to get, my problem is to first find one in a country that can export. The ones I find in the UK are all demilled, and I can’t get one from the US due to ITAR. Maybe I can work something out from Canada.
Random question. Do you think anyone is going to be making receivers for those Turkish Hotchkiss parts kits that came in recently? I’m debating on picking up a kit
Absolute cinema. Love that one commenter saying "The Swiss really just cherry picked all the best cold war gear and mashed it all together, really the best." Sums it up well.
Honey creek mfg, they're on gunbroker, you still need a mill and a welder to finish it though, thats also not including how to properly put it together
Welded it the same as the rest, used a keyseater to clean up the underside and dressed the outside with files and stones. It takes a long time but it's worked for me.
Dang, you're quick. My kit just showed up today, a little bit of surface rust, and very dirty, but overall pretty good condition. Even still has the hand written name tag.
I've got so many other projects going, I have no idea when I'm going to get to this one

DaSandGuy@reddit
Could always get them imported torch cut, they are just expensive and niche so not a huge demand
lukas_aa@reddit
I thought the ATF also required the barrels to be cut up for a couple of years now, and that getting replacemenr barrels was the real dealbreaker?
DaSandGuy@reddit
Correct, that has changed recently for dual use barrels
lukas_aa@reddit
Ah, good times then 🤗.

People have been talking about it, but people also talked about stamping Franchi LF57 halves. I'll believe it when I see it.

Of course.

How did you tackle the charging handle slot/flange? Seems like it would be a pita to weld and clean up

cool thanks. I built one off a new receiver, but the RTG kits are taunting me...
