If you remember, ring tones used to be unique and you had to buy a lot of them online or hook your phone up to a computer, so there was a 'tech' element to it as well, making it more unique and interesting.

Now anyone can upload any ringtone to their phone, which removed any cool factor it once had...at least that is how I remember it!
