Early millennial here, does finding content on all the apps feel like what TV used to be to figure out what show was on what channel?
What happened to uhh Floatplane and the U-something site?

Don't forget the OG, full30 dot com. Started by the military arms channel.
There has been many attempts.

And is Patreon not enough to cover funding for his channel? How much of his funds are going into the channel anyway?

The History of Weapons & War site/app was a hedge against moves that Youtube was making 2-3 years ago, at one point they floated the idea of making all firearms content against their TOS.
But HW&W never got the critical mass to be self-sufficient, unfortunately. Utreon/Playeur is shuttering, I presume the VC investments dried up. It's a bummer but Pepperbox is a better alternative than nothing.
Video hosting is expensive when Big Daddy Alphabet isn't paying for it and Alphabet has deep enough pockets to keep eating the losses. And it's working because every Youtube alternative fails to get traction.
Pepperbox at least has the Unsub boys to drive some amount of traffic. I fear it won't be enough in the long run but at least they're still kicking for now.
