Karting Help!
Posted by UsernameFound404@reddit | budapest | View on Reddit | 7 comments
I'm visiting Budapest for 4 days over the next few days and would love to go to a really great karting track. I noticed there's quite a few of them and I need some recommendations on the best one. I have seen that the hungaroring has been shortened due to work but is unsure if this is still going on.
Please help!!

I definitely recommend DC Karting, they are out of the way in a small town near Budapest. It's best if you have a car to get there, as public transport will get you to Zsámbék (the town) but there's no real way to walk to the actual karting area (You'd have to walk quite a ways next to a 90km/h road with no sidewalks)
DC has the best outdoor track in the region, it's the longest in Hungary, highly technical, very challenging and fun to learn. The karts themselves are so-so, average hungarian rental quality, quite a big difference between them, but if you go 3-5 rounds it should even out.
If you're looking for more casual afternoon fun, I recommend FlashKart. They have two locations in Budapest, one in the center of the city at Blaha Lujza Tér, and one more outside, at KÖKI mall. Out of the two I personally recommend the KÖKI one, the track there is a lot more pleaseant.
Both are in underground parking lots, but as the name suggests, they are both electric kart locations. You either like that, or hate it, I personally really enjoy them, and appreciate not smelling like gasoline. I can wholeheartedly recommend it, moreso the KÖKI location.

That's extremely helpful. I'm flying this morning and shall have a look at flashkart. I've done electric karts in Frankfurt and Prague and they were good fun. Eco Kart Frankfurt if you ever make the trip is well worth it

I'm not a huge karting guy or anything, but I've been to a few tracks. I found all of them to be pretty good (to my standards at least), so I think you can't really go wrong with either one with good google reviews.
