Is it safe and practical to work in Saudi Arabia for my first job abroad?

I recently received an opportunity to work in Saudi Arabia. It includes basic benefits like housing and transportation.
For those who’ve worked abroad before, I’d really like to know: - How safe is it to work and live there? - Is it allowed or realistic to get a second job? - Would you recommend accepting something like this, or should I just decline the offer?
Any advice, recommendations, or personal experiences would be a big help.

Terrible offer; don't do it.

You can do housecleaning anywhere; I’m not sure that you will get any benefit for the next job by working in KSA. Not sure where you are from, but the Gulf states famously treat their imported domestic workers terribly. I’d avoid this like the plague if you have any other option. Aside from being sexually assaulted by your employer (obviously not all but an internationally recognized complaint), they may take your passport and “hold” your wages for you. Once you are there, there is no one to go to for help (especially if you do not have your passport or any money). The agencies who recruit women for these jobs almost always over-promise. There is a good chance you will not get what you contracted for, even if everything else goes well.

i wouldn’t step foot in the dump. especially when nearly every country it borders (UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait) is a much better place to live

Bad idea. Some employers will. take your passport. Others may mistreat you. Do some research.

Advice: Don't.

No. It is not safe there. Please decline the offer. Do not travel there. Please do some more research.

I hope you don't Google too much about how cleaners and caretakers are treated in Saudi Arabia if you really want to go there. Especially if you're a woman from Asian countries.

Depends on where you're coming from and what you are used to, and if the money is a good deal or not. And of course check if the free accommodation is a shared bed in a 20 man dorm, or an actually livable place.
As far as safety and security are concerned you don't need to worry as long as you don't get involved in drugs, religious debates and anything regarding local politics aka the royal family.
Oh and any sexual acts outside of marriage are strictly forbidden and severely punished.

It’s extremely safe if you keep your nose clean. Probably safer than wherever you are from.
If you’re a woman, you’ll hate it. If you enjoy a beer now and again, you’ll also probably hate it. If you like cool breezes and walkable streets, you’ll definitely hate it.
