I saw Ethan Phillips at a con and he mentioned that during filming breaks on Voyager he couldn't nap because he would damage the headpiece and he couldn't read because of the contact lenses. Also couldn't eat because of the fake teeth.
It's probably not breathable at all and likely super uncomfortable with all the trapped sweat. The relief of taking it off likely outweighs the time to put it back on.
That, and the props department probably wouldn't want it ruined as they likely re-use them as much as they can.
It's at 8 o'clock, follow the eyes. Whatever is happening to the left of the cameraman is the coolest thing in the room, and worf and deanna are trying real hard not to look.
I'm sure the pic will come in handy somewhere... even Worf is grinning in a way that would surely have the latex plop off the forehead unless they used epoxy up there!
Look at his hairline on the HD remaster. You can see the glue. It's got a charm, seeing the seams. You will also notice that Worf has no ears until the Picard show
That must be why I didn't like that thing. I always thought it looked so fake. But if it was made for TOS, it didn't need to look any good back then. The viewers being able to tell it was a sash and that it was gold in color (if they had color TVs) must have been success enough.
It's makeup for TV lighting. They must have left the sound stage directly to wherever this is on the lot. I just wanna know what those ribbons were for. It's possible Sirtis and Dorn weren't done filming for the day so they stayed in hair and makeup for convenience.
They were probably a bitch to wear under spotlights. Burton talked about needing help to get around when the white contacts and Visor were both necessary for the scene
For every "where no one has gone before" where one can actually feel for his plight, we then get a "the battle" or "datalore" where the attempts to make him look good just end up as pure cringe.
Yar too had more bad moments in scripts and, let's face it, "Justice" did some of the worst for Yar, Wesley and Riker!
What are those corsage ribbons they're wearing? Marina still has her hair done from set, and Michael obviously didn't even change or remove his make-up. What's the context here?

Well seeing as Wolf doesn't have a ribbon, it's probably after the bat'leth tournament on Forcas III. The conditions were difficult. Several contenders were maimed, but someone used the illegal T'Gha maneuver on him and he lost the tournament. Yar, Riker and Troi all are wearing protest ribbons in solidarity for Worf.
This looks like a scene from an alternative season 1 episode where the Enterprise where something went badly wrong and the command crew were dishonourably discharged from Starfleet.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Michael Dorn slept with the forehead crest on. Must take forever to put back on.

That was the original costume sash worn in tos, it was actively falling apart from the seams during season 1.
