Hello, so im looking for distro suggestions for my laptop, ive been using arch for a few months now and i cant say its relatively the best, id rather switch to another distro but my laptops specs are pretty weak.. it has 256 GB SSD and 8GB RAM it has an Intel (R) Pentium (R) Gold 7505 (4) @ 3.50 GHz CPU and an Intel UHD Graphics G4 @ 1.25 (Integrated). Sooo i would like a pretty lightweight distro.
I would prefer to stay away from GNOME

I really like fedora workstation. It is simple and efficient, but very different from windows, so it takes a while to get used to.

What didn't you like about Arch?

just seems like a pain sometimes, litterally spent like 15 minutes just trying to connect to the internet and that was with iwctl loll

That laptop is not "weak". It can easily run any of the major distros. Pick one more or less at random and remember that solutions to most problems are a google search and a couple package installs away.

You can install any desktop environment you want on Arch. I'd suggest looking at Cinnamon or MATE. If you're courageous, have a look at some tiling window managers. I3 and awesome are great tiling window managers. I've been using Awesome now for almost 6 years. Love it!
