Are We the Most “Fair” Generation?

Far from all, but the majority of the X'ers in the part of the country (US) I currently reside in are more like boomers than the chill, cool, live and let live X-mentality they *think* they embody. VERY happy to pull the ladder up behind themselves, and absolutely zero care about any impact on anyone or anything around them. Selfish to a whole other level, almost worse than the boomers before them. They claim to be chill and appreciate equality, but what they actually appreciate is privilege. They have no problems with anything squashing, ruining, or destroying the lives or rights of anyone else as long as it doesn't affect them - and in fact, the amount of racism and bigotry and misogyny I've seen come out of the woodwork has been rather appalling. Now, I am aware enough to recognize it might be a regional/localized thing, and I know I have many friends from when I lived in other parts of the country who are NOT that way at all, so what I am seeing here in a "majority of gen x" is specific to "gen x here" not to "gen x." So, YMMV wildly. I'm planning a huge move, and would not be surprised if, in two years, you asked the same question, my perspective will be radically different because I'll be around a cultural group with a different mindset in general.
