I did not mind the Draco lovey dovey Gabrielle plot, I just wish when they brought him back they didn't downplay his villainy. For all he was Xena's past ex we didn't know enough about, we never got to see the worst of him like we saw of Borias. If they properly expand on Draco's character instead of offshoring that development onto Borias, I might even care about him more. I do wonder if they hire the Borias actor to replace Draco, because the actor was largely unavailable.

Neither, I can’t forget the line he says to Xena where he said “I forced things between us once before”, like wtf?? I HATED when Xena fell in love with him under Bliss’ enchanted arrow spell, I was shocked the show made Xena kiss him if he’s her, let’s say “grapist” (unless I completely misinterpreted what he was saying) I know he is supposedly reformed by being in love with Gabrielle but I don’t think something like that in someone’s past can be excused. He also sells women into sex slavery! Rounding up all the Hestian virgins and telling his men not to ruin the merchandise??? DISGUSTING!!!

Honestly I don’t remember any of that at all. Especially him saying he once forced things on Xena. I don’t think they were ever together intimately, didn’t he say in the very first episodes “I want you in love or in battle but you won’t give me the satisfaction of either will you?” I think he said something like that, that implies they’ve never slept together (nor has he assaulted her). I could be wrong as it’s been a while since I’ve seen his episodes. But yeah the slavery thing is despicable.

I just listened to Xena Warrior Podcast and they mention something about how they picked up on that line too and how weird it was because there’s no context to it so I have no idea what he’s referring to when he says that but I thought it was so creepy!

Oh i'd enjoy Gabrielle and Draco :-) - it was Xena's fault he was so aggressive in Lyre Lyre though because she didn't let Cupid remove the love spell previously. I think a lot of people forget that. Personally I would have liked to have seen more of that hot tub scene.....

Sadly this was not my favorite XWP episode. What saved it for me was Draco's version of "Always something there to remind me". I just about died laughing. He's one of my favorite villains in the series-attractive and has a wicked sense of humor!

As I understand it, Draco's thing for Gabrielle isn't something he chose himself - it results from some mishap with Aphrodite. Now, there was an attraction between him and Xena before that - but I am not sure it measured up to the one with Ares.

Season 1 felt largely a missed opportunity from the lack of Draco and the lackluster Cortese backstory. If they brought back Draco more often, it might even rival Ares' attraction, the Draco actor definitely got the charisma, same with Mark Antony to pull it off.

Neither. Draco has an interesting backstory - he tried to reform from his warlording ways, only to be beaten half to death by his own father. The writers should leaned more into that side of his personality, instead of fobbing him off as a horny cartoon villain.

I don't see them hooking up with him in any way. He is like that ex that is friendly and goofy enough that you stand hanging out with but are thankful you have grown passed needing him as he is too annoying. He is a fun character and works well as an ex whom doesn't get that the girls he likes are beyond loving him at all.
