Saw the CT5 at the NY Auto Show (XT6 as well)...

.... and here are some random thoughts (from a brand fan, BTW). AMA:
- It definitely looks much better in the metal than in photos. It's sleeker and more distinctively Cadillac and has real gravitas and presence...
- The union of the horizontal and fender portions of the headlight is perhaps the point of greatest tension/awkwardness...
- The black plastic at the rear door/c-pillar didn't bother me at all in person, and even is a bit consistent with other Caddy models (the XT4 has a tiny version of this).
- It was hard to see the interior from a distance, but the overall look was good and seemingly more driver-focused and cockpit flavored than pictures indicate, and moreso than its competition, almost like the BMW's of old. Materials seem nice....
- Sport model's look and modifications had more real world impact than photos indicated originally...
- Having seen this, I'm now very excited for the CT4 (and hopefully a CT4-V).
Regarding the XT6:
- It looked overall better than I was fearing. Walking around it and sitting inside (one was open), it definitely looks and feels like one of the brand's models, whatever is happening mechanically underneath. It's no Saab 9-7X...
- Interior materials were better than I was expecting given reviews. I had no major problems other than the fact that current Caddy interior themes in general look a bit under-designed vs the competition...
- I disliked the widely spaced analogue gauges that the XT6 uses (and I fear the CT5 uses as well). The CT6 digital gauge cluster is excellent. Why don't they spread that around the lineup? (CT6-V looks great, BTW).
Happy to answer any questions on these (and any NYAS questions)

The CT5 looks like ~~that one French Honda Accord knockoff~~ a Peugeot 508.

This is impressive. I don't think I've ever had a 7 year old post of mine responded to... Thank you!
