Hey reddit, have a 2003 ford windstar that I'm trying to get ready to sell soon before I go off to college. Lately the instrument clusters had the issue of getting stuck and freezing, but usually if you smack it it goes back to normal.

Today it didn't go back to normal, in fact the gauges went dead and all the lights (on the dash) came on. I would have just chalked it up to a bad instrument cluster but I noticed when I got it home that the radio, headlights and tail lights wouldn't turn off. I disconnected the battery so it didn't kill it, but now I'm kind of at a loss. It seems like the whole electrical system went nuts. I tried letting it cool of for 10-15 minutes in case it just got hot but as soon as I reconnected the battery the system turned on again without me even having the key in the ignition.
