7600x or 9800x3d

Hi all,
I currently have a setup with a 7600x but potentially looking to upgrade just because I’m getting a bonus to 9800x3d.
I have a 4080 Super and play 1440p ultra wide.
Would you recommend I go ahead with this upgrade? Would I see much of a difference? Or should I put my money elsewhere.
Thanks

where you'll notice the improvements the most is the 1% lows tbh

What does 1% lows mean?

9800x if ur on budget. Not that much worse

Didn’t even know there was a 9800x

Put 60% of that bonus into your retirement if you have enough leftovers with the 40% remaining go for it.

Thanks all. I think I may just do the upgrade while I have the extra disposable funds.

9800x3d helps a lot at lower resolution such as 1080p. while you play at 1440p, if you use upscaling like dlss quality, which is 960p upscale to 1440p. the x3d cache will help a lot

huge difference depending on the games you play I noticed a difference going from a 5800x3d to 9800x3d

7600x is still a great cpu you only really need a upgrade if you notice lackluster utilisation and fps

battlefield 6 is pretty well optimized but you still would see a benefit if you play games like kingdom come 2 / rust / tarkov you will notice huge differences plenty of mmos benefit from the 3d cache and simulators like flight sims

Hardware unboxed just released cpu benchmark for bf6 with 33 cpu’s. 9800x3d is much better tan 7600x at tested resolution and game section (demanding one). I would say it would be great update, 1% fps low’s are so much better also.

Appreciate that, thank you.
