5070ti or 7900xtx for fps

Bought a 7900xtx for $800 (unopened)
Bought a 5070ti for $700 (unopened)
Return policy changes if I open the boxes, so I need to make my decision now.
This build is for online fps games running the highest native resolutions. Is it better to have the 16gb 5070ti or 24gb 7900xtx if I’m not planning on using dlss? As far as value goes, the $100 difference isn’t a big deal I just want to know which one would be better running high res.
Is 16gb Vram enough for future proofing?
Is the 24gb too old and slow or is having the extra 8gb worth it?
The card will be paired with
9800x3d X870 board 32gb 6000 cl30 360mm aio Gen 4 ssd Case TBD but surely good ventilation if xtx is in it 1000w power 240hz 32’ oled Maybe a 4K led in the future, but not sure because 4K at 60hz in shooters isn’t the best idea if I’m trying to be competitive, but it sure does look good lol.

7900xtx is the more powerful card.depending on the the card you have, it can pull 450 watts. If you can keep it cool. I have the Asrock PG on custom water. Only real upgrade that makes sense for me is a 5090.
In your case it is only 100 difference. 5070Ti is slower but also much better for electricity bill.

I mean, it's really not much slower at all. According to Hardware Unboxed, the 5070ti is like 7% slower (source) in pure rasterization while drawing significantly less power than the 7900xtx. It also costs 15% more.
I'd say this is pretty much a no brainer to go with the 5070ti in this situation.

7900xtx is faster if you dont use ray tracing or upscaling (although I would recommend dlss over the taa that is shoved in every game) but 7900xtx shouldnt be more expensive than 5070ti

Would you pick the 5070ti and run dlss or run 7900 native?
KFC_Junior@reddit
its like a 5% raster diff. dlss4 looks supperior than the AA featured in most games. fsr3 looks like someone took the colours of certain parts and smeared it around
WorkingConscious399@reddit
if you hate upscaling the 7900xtx would be better but I wouldnt pay 100 more than a 5070ti for one because of the features it is going to be missing
GARGEAN@reddit
Absolutely 5070Ti. In pure raster 7900XTX is basically equal to 5070Ti. Calling it "faster" is facetous - difference is barely 1-2%, they are indistinguishable aside from specifically one-sided games.
Yet with DLSS Q, which, especially at 4K, is not worse, and sometimes better, than running on native, 5070Ti will win in performance significantly.
WorkingConscious399@reddit
5070ti also has DLAA (native anti ailiasing) which looks the best but it doesnt increase your fps like quality mode
WorkingConscious399@reddit
I always use dlss 4 transformer mode whenever its available on quality it looks better than native TAA to me even when I dont need the extra fps
Quiet_Try5111@reddit
use 7900xtx as a lossless scaling for the 5070ti

id build 2 pc's .. life is good ..

Good point 🤣
Quiet_Try5111@reddit
keep the 5070ti since it’s the cheaper option. an online fps game can run well on a weaker gpus, it just need a strong cpu which you already have.
Elitefuture@reddit
Tbf, cod is an online fps game that can benefit from a strong card and heavily favors amd.
He never said which fps game
Quiet_Try5111@reddit
well, a xtx shouldn’t be $100 more expensive than a 5070ti when something like the 9070xt exist.
b-maacc@reddit
Keep the 5070 Ti and return the XTX.
GARGEAN@reddit
LMAO, 7900XTX with higher price than 5070Ti is a joke. Return it.
Itzkibblez@reddit
They both have similar raster performance so I would go with the 5070ti for the better feature set and rt performance plus you save $100
theCaffeinatedOwl22@reddit
7900 XTX if you want 4k. Textures in some games can be more than 16 GB
