Where are the Core Ultra 5 235t chips?

The core ultra 5 235t was released in January 2025 by intel, but I couldn't find any vendors selling it earlier this year when I started looking for it.
It’s almost 2026 and the only vendor selling a 235t chip is some guy on eBay. I can find the regular Ultra 5 235 for sale at major PC vendor sites, but not the 235t version.
Anyone know why?

oh wow! thats actually kinda expensive. Do they ship to the United States?

You could just get a standard 235 (or even better, a 245k because they're cheaper right now) and put a power limit on it in the BIOS to get the same effect.

I'll probably have to settle for the standard 235. But I just don't understand why its availability is so limited.

It's a tray only processor. So you have to buy them by the 1000's. They don't come in retail boxes and are intended for OEMs to integrate into pre built pcs.
Some retailers carry them, quietpc here in the UK used to carry the T series chips but I haven't been on that site in a while. But their niche use case and OEM style purchasing methods out most large retailers off.

I see, that makes sense. I hope intel decides to make this chip more available. I know you can get the same effect by limiting a CPU’s power in BIOS. But if you are going to put in the effort to test and design a CPU for thermal efficiency, you might as well put it in on the open market for everyone to buy.

From what I see, the 235 is more expensive here in the states compared to the 245k which is a noticeably better CPU

I don't think so.

PS Could you just use a non-T chip and set a low power limit?
