ULPT Request for ways to find 'under the table' work?

Everyone knows what the means, and we've all seen it talked about in movies and tv and hear it mentioned in real life, but how do you actually find this kind of work? I'm not talking about anything illegal, I'm talking "Will this restaurant let me be a dishwasher for the night so I can grab a greyhound". I don't really have any skills beyond that I'm a semi-intelligent pair of hands that only needs to be told once, but it's hard finding anything because I'm a petite woman so I don't exactly scream valuable asset to most labor, which has made things difficult in this job market.
It's seemingly impossible to find consistent work with anyone, but I figured maybe a place would be willing for one-off help now and again and just hand some cash and call it a day, but I don't really know how to look for that kind of thing and what places are a waste of time and stuff

When I worked in restaurants, we were always looking for dishwashers. They don't stick around long, constantly pull no-call no-shows and never give notice when they quit.
I've only worked front of the house so I don't have details, but I've seen guys get hired on the spot more times than I can count. I think they usually just bang on the back door until someone opens it and then they offer to work.
Starting out, I'd say go through the normal entrance that customers use and ask the hostess or who ever you see to speak to the chef or someone in charge of the kitchen.
Once you find that person, tell them you want to make some cash doing dishes. Even if they don't need you right away, they'll probably ask for your number anyways. If they ask you to fill out paperwork, just tell then you want cash only.
Keep knocking doors until you get a yes. If there's a downtown area with a bunch of restaurants, you can hop around place to place if needed.
I suppose you can call around but I don't think they'd want to discuss cash payment over the phone.
Best time to go/call would probably be when they're getting ready for the next shift, so around 10 am for lunch shift or 2-3 pm for dinner.
Make sure they feed you, too. That always seemed to be included with any dishwashing job.
Don't worry if you don't have experience, you can learn it pretty quickly and they'll train you. They're often so desperate they just want a warm body.
Dress ready to work. Meaning jeans or some other durable pants, non-offensive tshirt, and closed toe shoes, hopefully nonslip. Sneakers or work boots are fine. You'll get soaking wet and dirty so avoid white clothing.
Good luck, you got this.

Get non slip shoes from walmart, about 50$ , no chef in his right mind will let you in his kitchen without non slip

Also, don't go during busy times. Go around 2-4 PM

If you have any sort of local social media (subreddit, facebook group, etc.) you can post there asking for odd jobs. We get them all the time for folks looking to do yard work, painting, moving, that kind of thing. Hauling scrap or junk is another cash gig that gets posted a lot, if you have access to a truck or trailer.

Wait at your local home depot with all the illegal guys doing the same, day laborer stuff. Wait for the gringo with the pick up truck that pulls up and asks if they know how to....just yell. Si,si señor and hop in back. Watch out for ICE but if your legal then I don't see the issue....
