In terms of competition, do United and delta view envoy, psa, and Piedmont the same way?

Envoy is Americans flagship regional so do competitor legacies like poaching from them more than Piedmont or psa?

How did you arrive to that conclusion?

Yes. Airlines do hire from competion and don't hire from their own regionals. It's called metering. If you fly for republic or skywest, you're screwed out of a career at the big three. It's legal discrimination.

I would disagree with that. I know a good list of Captains that went straight from those to Delta, United, and American. But they want their money’s worth out of you and it may be advantageous to wash the resume.

My brother left Republic after he got hired at a legacy in 2024 without ever upgrading to captain while he was at Republic. Although he himself would characterize his situation as abnormal and somewhat lucky.

To answer your question simply, yes they do.
The other commenters will handle the rest.
