I wonder how this guy got out of this lmao

Saw this guy attempting to back into this street coming out of my DCđ Props to him for trying to get himself out of this situation but, minus points for not scanning the road and seeing the 2 no thru trucks signs beforehand.

Let's hope he figured it out quick. Nothing like trying to drive when you're thinking you're going to throw up because you don't know what the f*** you're doing.
No_Inflation7432@reddit
So we're positive he's trying to back into that place as opposed to coming out of it and maybe trying to go back and forth a few times to get a larger swing to leave? I'd want to see video of somebody doing a blind side back in two-way traffic without a spotter.

Oh im 1000% possible he was trying to back in. I was at a red lights coming out of my DC and saw him make the right turn. He tried to back in off the street but there's not enough room to get back under the trl. Unfortunately my light turned green so I had to go but I saw his tractor a bit off the road.

Although... I drive for a company with nice red trucks, Some Schneider dude tried to come into our terminal one night and got stuck in front of the gate for like 45 minutes while I tried to walk him through a 180. Of course while helping the guy I was standing in the leftovers of somebody's dog walk. PSA: Never help someone without scanning for dog shit

I mean if ur right there...
Just hop into the other lane and reverse with the flow of traffic like normal.
Then watch the light till its green and driverside back into the intersection like a pro.

That's actually smart afđ€Ł
Class8guy@reddit
The only way to do it. Happened to me on a route with raised train tracks due to some road work. Being in a car hauler that rides inches from the ground wasn't risking took me about 8min of straight backing but got it done!
Ok-Duty-6377@reddit
Backing up on any road is an automatic termination for Schneider.
shadowmib@reddit
Thst would be an instant termination
tooleeki@reddit
If they could think that far ahead they wouldnât be in that predicament to begin with.
xDoomKitty@reddit
Yeah, that's fair xD
Bagzthehoney@reddit
Itâll take more time to do what heâs doing oppose to looking at google maps to see where the road takes him an ride it out
Gromieee@reddit (OP)
Google maps is crazyđ Thats probably how he got into this situationđ€Ł
Bagzthehoney@reddit
Naw what got him there is not paying attention to the sign that says no thru trucks. He could have went right or left easily. Google maps and common sense can take you very far
Lopsided_Beautiful_1@reddit
The SNI navigation they use is trash, it does sometimes directs to make a turn on someoneâs long driveway and make a u-turn đ.
shadowmib@reddit
Yeah ive had to deliver to places that had those signs. A lot of the times its just they dont want trucks on the road not that they cant make it.
Definitely should have scouted with google maps first though
Gromieee@reddit (OP)
Very true! I use to run Google maps when I started, mainly for traffic but it did come in handy sometimes. Definitely need common sense though! Now I found Tuckers path and I live by it pretty much.
Bagzthehoney@reddit
Truckers path is decent I would use it here and there. I started out with a Garmin and it took me down a residential road that didnât have a no truck sign and I Said fuck it all together. After that day I been using Google maps wn havenât looked back. I always pre plan ahead though and check an make sure wherever I am going is state route or highway and if I have to turn onto a road that has bridges or anything else the height is good to go. I know everyone has difffent methods but it works for me
AcanthocephalaNew791@reddit
Oh wow. If that is a company driver he probably will be getting a talking to. Lol
Lopsided_Beautiful_1@reddit
Yeah, that would be automatic termination with Schneider, not allowed to backup on roads.
Long_Bison_6506@reddit
I wont blame him cauz sometimes these roads have no signs and shit thats why some get in situations like that . Its okay to get into situations like this but you should never do stupid shit in these situations thats what really matters in these things . You should know when to stop and ask for help that matters
Hot-Astronaut1788@reddit
he's clearly not a through truck
nastyzoot@reddit
Looks like he is either just getting out of it or 2 seconds from getting out of it. Seems like a bold decision executed flawlessly imho.
Gromieee@reddit (OP)
Yeah I definitely respect it, I just don't know of he pulled it off. Its definitely a good idea but just not enough room to get back under the trailer. His truck was almost in the ditchđ
1morepl8@reddit
Never had to pay to fix almost đ
nastyzoot@reddit
Lol. I'm stealing that!
duhrun@reddit
Most truck drivers have done this once in driving career, some roads shouldnât be attempted though if the shoulders lean down on both side.
that_one_erik@reddit
Yep, Iâve done this
Western-Willow-9496@reddit
Local drivers looking at it going âlooks like last Friday afternoonâs dropâ.
juuds5@reddit
You can make it work but you need to slide trailer tandem all way forward and fitth aÄș way back it takes time but it's doable
Present-Ambition6309@reddit
Very slowly and carefully đ€Ł
Ecstatic-Eye-5766@reddit
I Just made u turn, he still here.
Negative1Positive2@reddit
Looks like they are blind siding into a driveway, then they'll pull out turning left and away from the no-truck road. Pain in the ass but doable.
