Collection so far, what should I add?

I have a weird assortment, rifles from top to bottom CZ557 in 30-06, Marlin XT-22 in 22WMR, Romanian Sar-1 AK, Ruger 10/22, 80's Mossberg 500, and CZ Bobwhite G2 20g. Handguns from upper leftish to bottom rightish are Glock 43, Ruger EC9s, Ruger LCP Gen 1, Taurus G2c, S&W 686+ pro series, and Ruger Wrangler with Glock 17 in the mail! Oh and peep the harbor freight flashlight. Least favorites to shoot: Ruger EC9, AK, and Ruger LCP. Favorites are the CZ557, CZ Bobwhite, and the 686 for sure.

As an American you have to get an AR platform going…
Daledo126@reddit (OP)
Absolutely agree with you, and that's next on the list. As you can see I tried to make the AK work but at the end of the day I need an AR-15, every one I shoot I shoot 10x better than the AK with faster follow up shots. That one's a no brainer, looking at the Smith sport.

Me, three!
Murky_Ad_9408@reddit
Yea I just built one from Palmetto State for around 400 bucks and it runs great.
Daledo126@reddit (OP)
That's another choice I'm looking at, I figured with that I could have more money to stockpile ammo, and after watching all these meltdown videos on PSA stuff I can confidently say I won't abuse it THAT hard.
ChairMajestic7211@reddit
You’re not going to go wrong with PSA
Murky_Ad_9408@reddit
Yea I figure if something fails I'll just replace it with higher quality parts. I put a sig Romeo 5 red dot on it and it does everything I need it to.
Willing_Reserve6374@reddit
I love my smith

Putting on my Fudd hat: A wheel gun and a lever action. 👍

Lever gun
Daledo126@reddit (OP)
Oh yeah, I'm looking at that S&W 1854 in .357 to pair with my 686
MANoICE50@reddit
I just did this exact thing for my 686+. Marlin just got out of jail, looking forward to scheduling my next range trip soon.
Daledo126@reddit (OP)
Can't lie the choice is hard between the marlin with the classic wood or smith with the modern features, guess I'll have to get both..
Ok_Refuse_3318@reddit
Marlin 336. 100% would match your collection
Daledo126@reddit (OP)
That's a beaut, would make a good deer/hog rifle too
jetta-fr@reddit
not gonna lie you should get a Winchester repeater. get a little old west up in here 🤠

It makes all your other guns look bigger and cooler by comparison and it's a fun .22lr to have

I have big ass hands, those things terrify me haha
Bread_the_TrashPanda@reddit
Oh yeah me too, the whole thing fits cleanly in the palm of my hand 😆

ar-15 and a suppressor/suppressor hosts if you want a rounded out collection. On the other hand, what do you do with your firearms? Maybe start to get some rifles that serve a purpose - I went through some phases of building precision rifles, building suppressor hosts, building braced hunting pistols, acquiring a variety of carry options, then I went on my Noahs ark journey and got one of every caliber lol - which I actually learned a lot during - what I like, what I don't, what I care about, what tradeoffs different setups/calibers have etc. Tl:dr - ask yourself what you want to accomplish/what you can't do with your current collection and fill in the gap.
Daledo126@reddit (OP)
Funny you asked that question because that's what I'm going through right now, I'm realized I want to try some low level competition shooting and I'm lacking any good setups for that. So my LCP is for deep conceal carry, the Glock 43 for regular carry, the shotguns and rifles are for hunting, the G2c has been in my nightstand soon to be replaced by the g17. The EC9 I hate but my mom got it for herself and couldn't rack the slide so I got her a revolver because she liked mine and took the hit on the trade because I wanted her to be comfortable with her own gun. I'm going to sell it and use the money for ammo.
jgacks@reddit
JA outdoors was really nice building out a remington 700 action rifle. If you want a slick 700 action strasser has a straight pull that is just butter. If you want a nice middle ground carry the cz nocturne c has been my go to - I found i really like da/sa. You can even get that with a walther p99 in striker fired - if you're opposed to hammer fired.

Do not fret, a Glock 17 gen 5 is on the way! $362 after shipping and transfer fees
Intelligent-Age-3989@reddit
That's plenty, save money for ammo and have fun :-) I stopped at 6 pistols personally and it's hard not to buy more but when you don't have money left I guess I don't have a choice lol. Now I simply by ammo
Daledo126@reddit (OP)
I agree with the ammo as I have been bulk buying lately to keep more stashed away, but im realizing guns I thought I'd like I don't or there's better options for how I shoot. So some trades with friends might be going down
Intelligent-Age-3989@reddit
There you go, yeah out of my six pistols I'm finding I'm really attached to two of them and the other four are kind of just to have so to speak although I'm completely consistent with all of them some of them seem to have run their course with me just because I favor a couple specific ones so I might be doing some haggling myself LOL funny how that happens
America_3677@reddit
Maybe a 50BMG sniper
Murky_Ad_9408@reddit
Gau 8 Avenger 30mm
Daledo126@reddit (OP)
Think I could mount it on a Ford E-series? I have plenty of JB weld lying around
Murky_Ad_9408@reddit
For sure. Ammo is a little high i hear.
Parktio@reddit
definitely an AR platform and a 22lr pistol
Daledo126@reddit (OP)
The TX-22 would be fun! A lot quicker to get rounds off with that than the wrangler.
Murky_Ad_9408@reddit
Yep and it comes with a threaded barrel.
Parktio@reddit
thats what im looking at getting next, actually, is the tx22. it would probably be a good trainer for your glock 17 too!
Former-Ad9272@reddit
I absolutely love my CZ Bobwhite.
Daledo126@reddit (OP)
You know before your comment I hadn't really considered a muzzle loader as part of the plan, but now I'm going to look into adding that to a list. Any recommendations?
I also love my Bobwhite, I take it clay shooting for practice, and snipe season is approaching down here in FL!
Former-Ad9272@reddit
I really like side hammers. I figure if I'm running a smoke pole I want to look like Davy Crockett. I don't have any serious recommendations, but I know I'd love to drop some money on anything made by Pedersoli.
The Bobwhite is just that perfect balance between modern convenience and classic features. I hate barrel selector switches, but I can figure out 'front trigger close, back trigger far' when a bird gets up. Having chromed steel safe barrels, 3" chambers, and interchangeable chokes makes for an awesome duck gun. Early goose and teal is where that thing shines. I can swap my loads out quick and quiet, or just put in one of each
Daledo126@reddit (OP)
'front trigger close, back trigger far', that's exactly how mine is set up! It's the perfect bird gun. Ill have to do some research on the powder guns but looking like Davy Crockett will be a motivater haha
DrunkenArmadillo@reddit
Honestly, every collection should have at least one cap and ball revolver. They are inexpensive enough that there is no reason not to have one. And if you enjoy the smell of sulfur on the way home from your shooting excursions, then you probably need some sort of front stuffing rifle to go with it. Probably a caplock, because it's the next step, but then you'll realize that if you get a flintlock you don't have to worry about sourcing caps and you can defend your home just as the founding fathers intended.
Classic_rock_fan@reddit
Nice Marlin XT-22, you don't see a lot of them. They were one of the best value .22s at the time.
Daledo126@reddit (OP)
Thanks, it was a lovely Christmas gift from my mother actually, that thing is going nowhere. Plus it makes a nice cheap gun to alternate between shooting the 30-06 at the range.
Classic_rock_fan@reddit
I bought mine from a hardware store in Northern Ontario for like $200, I got one with a wood stock and can't believe how accurate it is. I agree it's a great break from shooting 30-06 or any other 30 cal centerfire cartridge, you can only shoot so many rounds of 300 Win Mag before your shoulder needs a break.

A lever gun
