Hey yall, I’m about less than 3 weeks from finishing my instrument rating, and I’m pumped to start my commercial, I do want to knock out my commercial pretty quick, just asking any of yall how quick you finished yours how you enjoyed it ?

Do it from the right seat. It gets you brownie points with most DPE’s and you will be able to focus 100% on teaching when it comes time for CFI instead of wasting time on right seat transition.

Get with a good instructor. Audit your logbook with regards to FAR 61.129 so you can identify gaps and work them into the training.
The flying is easy, fun, and rewarding. Allow ~15 hours for the maneuvers.
Schedule the checkride and plan training over 4-5 weeks prior if that fits your schedule. Twice a week would be about 6-8 weeks.

Commercial portion of training in my opinion is so much more fun haha. The news maneuvers are fun, and the PO 180 while admittedly probs will be your biggest source of stress for the checkride…is in my opinion so much fun when you figure out how to do it consistently!

We usually get it done in about 7 days.
We start with a check ride and work backwards from that point. Let me know how I can help you.

I agree with the 8-10 day estimate if you’re paired with a good CFI & flight syllabus and fly every day.
Maybe less.
Also helps if you go somewhere that has the DPE already scheduled like u/cfiimei_mrbaron does.

If you’re part 61, you could do it in two weeks if you’re focused, disciplined, flying every day, ahead on your written test, and have a DPE scheduled.
