I had an RTX 4060 that I got for free as a birthday gift. After about two years, I built a new PC with a Ryzen 7 9700X. When I finished the build, I realized I needed a new GPU because I play at 1440p and didn’t have a big budget, so I got a used RX 6800 16GB.

and i got it for about 270 USD

I would say “meh”
6000 series AMD GPUs are mediocre compared to what’s available now.
Yes you will have a minor bump in speed and you’ll likely be happy but you could have bought a brand new 9060XT for around the same price. Better performance and released this year.
All of this depends on your locale and the games you play.

tbh it's selling for 400 USD where i live

sorry now that i checked it's selling for 500 after tax

ouch. twice the price.. depending on the games you play though it could get more FPSwith frame gen (up to 4x frame gen). DLSS would be much better as well. You can get FSR4 but you gotta do some workarounds.
the only question I'd ask is.. are you happy with your FPS? Do the games run well? If so you're good!

it runs great

It's pretty simple
If YOU are happy, YOU made the right call!

Does it run well?
Least_Car2789@reddit (OP)
yeah really well
GoodmanPasta@reddit
That’s all you need. Run with it.

A rx6800 is about 31% faster than a 4060. Have you played with either gpu at your target resolution on your games of choice? This will tell you if it was necessary.

But my problem is that I’m a bit worried about productivity too, like editing. I still haven’t tested it on DaVinci Resolve.

You won’t know if you need an upgrade until you run it in your specific workload. Maybe the 4060 would have been enough, maybe the 6800 still isn’t enough. We don’t know until you try it.

yes i did like wuthering waves and it was really good
