Does anyone repair 3.5 floppy drives?

I'm trying to get my floppy drive up and running in my Panasonic word processor. I replaced the belt, cleaned and lubed the drive. The belt motor spins but the stepper motor is dead. I also found the stepper motor isn't getting any voltage. The drive is an EME213KNV. Any thoughts?

Test the electrolytic caps next to the stepper motor.

This. You say the stepper motor isn’t getting any voltage. I assume that you’ve confirmed that with a multimeter? If so, try tracing back the lines from the stepper motor through the PCB with your multimeter in continuity test mode. Chances are that there’s a failed component that’s causing the voltage line to be open circuit.

Did you unplug the stepper motor ribbon cable and clean the contacts?

Yes..

What did you lube the stepper and jackshaft with?

Super Lube Multipurpose Synthetic Grease.

Just throwing ideas here: Does the motor (is that even a stepper motor?) turn without the belt? It might be too tight?

The motor that spins the belt is working fine. It's the smaller motor that moves the head is dead.

Oh I see what you mean, good luck.

Probably end up finding on eBay... 🙄. But Id rather have this one rebuilt,if possible.
