I would call them the worst game company ever, frankly, but not only does EA exist - a company that was somehow making AI slop before AI existed - but they aren't really a game company anymore. I think part of it is that the Wii U just wasn't that big, even at its peak in ~2014. I'm about the same age but I've only ever met one or two people who've owned them, whereas wii, switch and 3ds owners are way more common

The one thing nintendo consistently does is make sure crunch doesn't happen, at least not in their 1st party studios that they have direct control over. The other big players would have never let tears of the kingdom/animal crossing have a full extra year just for polish, and the prime 4 restart would never have happened at other publishers

tbh, looking at Japanese Nintendo game, their worker satisfaction is at top 10 best companies to work for, and their developers retention is like 99%+ which is just un-heard of in Western companies.

Whenever you see directors of their game, it's always guys who has been working at Nintendo for like 20+ years, working on 10+ beloved game, while in here, the director would probably some MBA that joined the company 3 months before the project started and their work experience comes from working in banking or finance.

To be honest I've seen plenty of executives/directors be with companies for many years even here in the west.

This is more of an issue stemming from publishers that pressure developers rather than a west vs east thing.

Mario Kart World is ass and they force the shitty intermission tracks.

$80 games.

Online that is finally somewhat decent, only taking 15 years to match what Xbox and PS3 were doing.

Most games on launch for Switch 2 were 2-3 years old games that cant even run 60fps on Switch 2.

Its gotten to the point that Switch is my beat em up player and rare Nintendo game. Honestly only care for Xenoblade and Fire Emblem on Switch.

The single biggest improvement they could do with no real filter from their part is allow us to filter out publishers yo prevent new AAA Clock bundles and AI Hentai puzzle games to show up every single day on the store, but they simply don't care enough for that.

Why are gamers still using exclusives as a positive or 'gotcha'? Having less exclusives is better for the consumer. You can actually choose a console based on its specs and other features, instead of having to choose which games you want to be able to play.
