At first, I was tempted to assume that Tennessee was also the name of a town in England because this is some UK type of shit. Last I checked, they were also trying to charge that Minnesota woman who used a racial slur with a crime. We don't need this crap in this country from the right or the left.

In. N.

This man is going to be rich after the lawsuits fly.
RexInvictus787@reddit
They kinda buried the lede to say the least. You get a few paragraphs down in the article and it plainly says he was calling radio shows threatening to shoot up a high school.
UpandDownThrownAway@reddit
It absolutely does not say that. School has failed you
RexInvictus787@reddit
How do you interpret the last sentence of paragraph 9
browni3141@reddit
Which article are you talking about? Not the Reason article linked.

Last sentence of paragraph 9

Your reading comprehension sucks.

What’s an amendment to the constitution?
Prestigious-Fig-5513@reddit
Taxes and debt paid for this. Could this wealth be better spent by, say, helping the poor?
Rip_and_Tear93@reddit
That's not the government's job, same as it not being their job to jail people over their opinions.
Prestigious-Fig-5513@reddit
Agreed. Given the current state of the machine what is the lesser of those two evils in the near term?
In the long run my guess is bread and circuses before decentralization.
PhilRubdiez@reddit
The lesser of two evils is how we got in this mess.
ApresKandinsky@reddit
Disagree. Sometimes it was the greater of two evils.

And likely a while lot more when he sues the state down the line...
ChrisWayg@reddit
No direct threats were made. The only weird thing is that he posted this in a Perry County Facebook Group. Perry County also has a high school and they felt threatened by this.
While the fact the Iowa high school was named "Perry" might have justified the sheriff initially looking into the matter, it is in fact insane that the guy was actually arrested and charged with threatening a mass shooting. (Aaron Terr)
I don't like his insensitive and offensive post, but this was not illegal.
DarthFluttershy_@reddit
Ya, unless there's elements to this that haven't been released to justify it, a $2M bond is absurd
AkJunkshow@reddit
Trump won that County by 75% in the last election.
jasont80@reddit
It's tough to judge unlss we see the actual post, possibly with the context of other posts. But they'll say they can't post it if it's illegal. A real conundrum for justice.

Guy has serious TDS. Total whack whackado. Still, we can't have people going to jail for posting memes. The bull shit reason for putting him in jail is too much. I don't like him, but we need to defend free speech. Ffs.
