Is the show in danger?

This season was off to a good start in the ratings, but in the last two weeks, the show has slipped into the 0.05-0.06 range. Now I don’t know if these are passable by Comedy Central standards. American Dad has had episodes rank around that range in its TBS years but has soldiered on.
But I’m beginning to worry that the minimal promotion this season is hurting it. Tbf, they’ve not been promoting South Park as much either but that show has a huge enough fanbase that they’ll show up. B&B is popular too, but not on South Park’s level. Do you think this is hurting the show or is it fine?
Real-Beautiful9499@reddit
It’s unwatchable now. I’ll stick with the classic seasons!
Togder@reddit
Well, I heard there was a new season, checked paramount and didn't see it, so I gave up
Banesmuffledvoice@reddit
Not on paramount plus so I can’t watch it. Maybe once they get around to putting it up I will watch it hit truthfully making it exclusive to Comedy Central For the time being took the wind out of the sails at this point.
Tydagawd88@reddit
It's not on there? I haven't looked but I know last season is on there.
Marissa10042005@reddit
The current season is only on Comedy Central
Tydagawd88@reddit
Uh huh huh huh, that's stupid.
TurelCaccese@reddit
I just pay paramount + in the Netherlands to see South Park and B&BH , but season 3 is not available at all. This new reboot is just great (like the New King of the Hill). Why they want to cancel it?
Old_Wafer_3116@reddit
TBH I think Paramount wants to cancel it even if the ratings were great, seems like the company is aiming to cut cost as a whole
ConsumerofToons@reddit (OP)
If they did, then it would have been cancelled when they were preparing for the merger. Many shows were axed because Paramount wasn't making money off of advertising them. B&B was carried by merchandise sales and ratings on both platforms (linear cable, and streaming), so as of right now, it's safe. I was just a little concerned what will happen to the show after this season.
Old_Wafer_3116@reddit
Glad to hear that, just a hunch but I'm thinking Judge will do 1 more season maybe 2 then stop.
JimmyJabble@reddit
They are really shooting themselves in the foot by only having it air on Comedy Central, I've had to sail the seas to see the episodes so far.
ConsumerofToons@reddit (OP)
It would help if they promoted it more. It was promoted plenty when episodes had their first run on Paramount+.
mcrib@reddit
Promoted to who? People who have cable don’t watch Beavis and people who watch Beavis don’t have cablw
ConsumerofToons@reddit (OP)
That's where you're wrong. Beavis did pretty well on cable in 2023, even on days when South Park wasn't airing and Comedy Central had double bills.
Toxlc-Rick@reddit
I mean, promotion won’t hurt it. But I have no way to even watch it.
Nobody I know has cable, and nobody is paying $80 or whatever it is monthly for the “live tv” streaming.
They’re alienating their fans that want to watch the show, and I don’t think many new fans will be “joining in” out of convenience because they probably don’t have cable either lol.
Just a very strange decision
CI_Blanche@reddit
Yep, I didn't even know that there was a new season of Beavis and Butt-Head until I saw a commercial for it when I watched this season's premiere of South Park!
UhhCanYouLikeShutUp@reddit
Yeah, because honestly... Who the fuck has cable anymore?
new2bay@reddit

FernFromDetroit@reddit
I have “cable” in the idea that I have a bunch of free Iptv logins so I could watch it when it airs but absolutely refuse to watch anything with fucking commercials. I only use the cable channels are background noise when I’m reading comics or doing something else. I just wait for the Beavis and butthead torrents to come out and watch it like that.
ricky_lafleur@reddit
I like to browse the cluttered program guide when I don't know what I want to watch and can record with the DVR. I don't want to pay for several streaming subscriptions. I have the cheapest Roku will all the free services. Doesn't seem to be possible to stop watching something and later pick up where I left off.
Yah_Mule@reddit
Sports fans who are tired of getting nickel and dimed to death by the inconsistent picture quality of streaming services mostly.
uninspired@reddit
I'm a sports fan. I still sail the seas 🏴☠️ Especially because I'm a Cubs fan and sure as fuck will not subscribe to marquee
schwing710@reddit
For real. Let’s release it on cable, something everyone got rid of 15 years ago! It’s like if a band in 2025 decided to release a new album on 8-track only.
jwoo3x@reddit
Cassettes are popular...if 8 tracks were released....🤣🤣🤣... I mean the kids buying records often have no turntable so they'd probably buy an 8 track.....I think most cassette purchasers have a tape deck though ...
schwing710@reddit
lol yea that’s why I had to go with 8-track for my joke to work. I collect vinyl, CDs, and cassettes myself.
SchleppyJ4@reddit
I’m still waiting for the two last weeks to show up :(
FernFromDetroit@reddit
They’re on 1337 now. I just watched the last two weeks of episodes yesterday.
IfarmExpIRL@reddit
same boat.. i am pulling my hair out
Chichibebewey@reddit
This. Make them available!
Foxtrot-Nation@reddit
Honestly, it might not be the worst thing if the show came to an end.
This is the second time they’ve revived it and it’s been great, don’t get me wrong
Too big to fail, as well as that episode about Beavis’s bike was hilarious
I’m just saying we should let things run their course
phantasmagoriaintwo@reddit
Unpopular maybe to most but I actually 100% agree with you. Like everyone here I am a massive fan of B&B and could watch them forever (and plan to rewatch the show forever until I die) but I have felt that some of this revival’s episodes just aren’t as great. I LOVED Do the Universe, S1 came out the gate strong, the Old B&B segments are always funny, but on S2 and 3 I find the video commentary with teen B&B to be less funny than it used to be and some of the episodes with teen B&B to be meh or fall flat…. Whereas the old B&B episodes have been great, the marriage one and the one where they’re moving the couch have had me in stitches. I think an old B&B movie or even another teen B&B movie would be better than another season at this point
OfficeGossip@reddit
The video commentaries are the only phoned-in thing to me so far. I think the episodes are pretty damn funny.
Old_Wafer_3116@reddit
I agree Judge lost his touch with the commentaries, seems really forced and dry compared to the quick witted smark ass remarks they used to make.
ConsumerofToons@reddit (OP)
Unlike the last revival, it will have had a fair run. 4 seasons is enough. But I'd be less concerned if there wasn't much of a draught in good cartoons on the air right now. There's some, but not anywhere near the variety we had in the 2010s.
kuebel33@reddit
Wow. I didn’t even know it was back yet. Guess I need to catch up.
AttentionLimp194@reddit
How did the first revival in 2011 die out back then?
MattInTheHat1996@reddit
Cause 2011 MTV was an entirely different culture then 90s MTV had it aired on comedy central or fox then it wouldve lasted
sehctibrsdomtidder@reddit
That one was better than the current B&B in my opinion because I liked it still had Buzzcut, McVicker, Burger World Manager, and teen Stewart.
phantasmagoriaintwo@reddit
Right? I think the 2011 season is actually one of my favorite seasons of B&B of all time and has a lot of good moments. The Cornholio cult episode and “beavis was crying” are still hilarious and could go toe to toe with some of the best 90s episodes
Ok-Lawfulness1152@reddit
Are they available anywhere?
FredFredBurger42069@reddit
There are some on paramount plus.
Heavy-Ad5385@reddit
Agree. If I’m honest, old Beavis and Butthead are my favourite part of the new edition. The 2011 season was brilliant. And that “Ghosted” clip might just be my favourite B&B moment ever!
phantasmagoriaintwo@reddit
MTV changed management and viewership fell off after the first few episodes. According to Mike Judge MTV executives lamented that the young female demographic MTV was catering to at the time with Jersey Shore / the pregnancy shows weren’t tuning into B&B and the ratings were too low for their liking. Funnily enough, in 2011 I was a teenager and am a girl and tuned in faithfully. But perhaps B&B couldn’t compete with the juggernaut that was Jersey Shore while it was still on the air. Mike also mentioned being out of ideas around that time but B&B ideas coming to him later when he was thinking of the KOTH revival.
tibsbulls2021@reddit
I believe Mike Judge wasn't interested in doing more than one season
ConsumerofToons@reddit (OP)
Change in management at MTV.
FredFredBurger42069@reddit
If it dies, it dies. Enjoy it while you can.
ConsumerofToons@reddit (OP)
I'm probably going to have that mindset if the show ends production. They'll probably still crop up in places, because they never really went away, even after the show previously ended both times.
FredFredBurger42069@reddit
They will always have enough fans to come back somewhere someway
OfficeGossip@reddit
I’ve been thinking about this. Paramount + never bothered to even advertise it from what I’ve seen. I actually forgot the season was about a month in before I started watching it. I’m a little worried because it’s one of the only few tv shows I enjoy watching, it has a very familiar and comfortable feeling to it. I hope that the ratings don’t discourage Mike Judge from pitching more seasons.
Bironas60@reddit
It's like they want it to die. Why isn't it on paramount plus? It's a shame really because I feel like this recent revival has had some great episodes.
AdImmediate6239@reddit
Nuts was one of the funniest episodes ever
AdImmediate6239@reddit
I’m baffled that they aren’t just putting the new episodes on Paramount+
cheftafoya@reddit
I’m still sitting here waiting for them to be on Paramount Plus.
junglesoldier5@reddit
They have it a horrible time slot and aren’t promoting it. This has been the best season since 2011 but no one is talking about it. 10:30 EST in the middle of South Park marathons is stupid
corneliusduff@reddit
Following the new South Park episode is not a bad time slot. It's the perfect animated double feature.
TheRagingZapdos@reddit
I really wanted it to last as long as the original run but that likely won't happen
MajikChilli@reddit
I didn't even know there was a new series. Ive just finished watching the new 2 series on Paramount for the millionth time. If I never saw this post, I would have no idea
GoseiRed@reddit
I don't have cable. Waiting for streaming.
Competitive-Ad9566@reddit
Well Lew Morton, comfirmed Season 4 is in development!
Electronic-Regret484@reddit
That literally says nothing (if true). They can always pull a David Zaslav and cancel it or write it off for taxes or something at any time. Even if it was fully finished and ready to air. Corporate overlords can and will actively go out of their way to screw their creatives over if they think it means they’ll get a couple extra nickels out of it.
partyclams@reddit
Where? Bluesky?
DanOhMiiite@reddit
South Park's been very mediocre this season, but B&B has been great. I hope they keep 'em coming.
Heavy-Ad5385@reddit
I think South Park is struggling because they’ve basically had to completely reposition themselves thematically after Charlie Kirk’s shooting…
Ill-Bandicoot-1333@reddit
They’re paramount’s controlled opposition. It’s so clear that’s why they are there. “Can’t be anti Trump, we have South Park!” Meanwhile, when it comes to real topics like Israel, they pull punches in ways I’ve never seen them do
M0rph33l@reddit
They made it difficult to watch. I gotta go on shady sites to see it.
DeepFriedStrudel@reddit
Which ones?
triple86733700@reddit
This^
The_Bandit_King_@reddit
They purposely shooing themselves in the foot
Startug@reddit
I'm convinced it's sabotage at this point. Why I have no clue, but my best guess is that Paramount simply isn't interested in continuing the show beyond this season. It's too bad as I've been enjoying it, yet hating that so many are missing out because it's exclusive to comedy Central.
jwoo3x@reddit
I agree with you both. Skydance doesn't see value in Beavis & butthead or it's money they don't want to spend so kill the show and there will be little demand for another new season but the back catalog will still be there and cost them pennies to store ....maybe ... I wonder what the contract specifies....
They've dropped the ball with/since acquiring rhe exclusive streaming rights for South Park too... maybe that's more so on trey & matt but I'd have preferred waiting rather than having 2 new episodes, a month off, one new episode, 3 weeks off, and...so on...
Which also makes me wonder after b&b has aired all the new elusive on comedy central will they all be available on Paramount + at once or will it be one or two episodes each week for however many weeks 🤔🤔🤔
ArtieKnightYT64@reddit
I feel like if it performs well enough on Paramount Plus, they will continue to produce episodes
boognish1984@reddit
I watch it On Demand. Does that count towards ratings?
Johnnnythehobo@reddit
Tbf I believe American dad pulls in crazy streaming numbers (I contribute a lot haha). Maybe Beavis and butthead will be more successful once it’s all up streaming
ConsumerofToons@reddit (OP)
Yeah, but unlike the last two seasons, Season 3 is airing it's first run on Comedy Central. The streaming views counted before, because Seasons 1 and 2 were on Paramount+ before CC. I don't know if things are different under the Skydance regime.
Johnnnythehobo@reddit
From my quick google search it looks like cc does count them. So fingers crossed
BadMan125ty@reddit
South Park is back. So it’s likely the reason for the ratings drop.
ConsumerofToons@reddit (OP)
No, it helps Beavis and Butt-Head. Even though on days where South Park didn't air, B&B still did well in ratings back in 2023.
SCATTER1567@reddit
Its in hulu now
Independent-Data4542@reddit
No South Park lead-in hurts, it's back next week
