Southwestern Oregon Preppers (SWOP) will be holding its monthly meeting at Noon on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Langlois Library, 48234 US-101, Langlois, OR 97450.
The main topic is "Should I Stay or Should I Go". This will be a round table discussion on when you should bug in or bug out. You should always be able to do both otherwise, you are not prepared.
SWOP meetings always start with a question-and-answer period before the main topic, so all attendees have a chance to participate.
This is a free public meeting to connect with fellow local preppers in southwestern Oregon counties and exchange information and ideas. Individuals need to understand that they will be “on their own” in the event of a disaster and not depend on receiving outside help.
Join Southwestern Oregon Preppers on Facebook and/or meetup.com.

Is there a NWOP, in/around Portland? I would be very interested in joining.

No, I don't think so. But I can help you start NWOP.

I recently stopped in Port Orford and it was a really nice little town. The book/fly shop, next to the food co-op there was great. Southwest Oregon seems like a good place to be during societal/climate turbulence. It has a worthy growing climate, ready access to an abundant ocean fishery and fresh water, enough people for mutual support, decent grazing pasture, copious timber, and relatively affordable land.
