what were your family's other dishes?

we all know the usual 'which corelle pattern did your family have growing up?' (butterfly gold for mine) but what other dishes did your family use when you were growing up? for my family it was Four Seasons Autumn Bouquet (pictured) that were bought on a promotion at Safeway in the 70s

I found this pic from a couple of years ago. Got rid of the set when we sold our parents' house.

We had these.
Sea-Significance8047@reddit
These. My parents got them as a wedding present (1979). We slowly broke all them, today they only have three dinner plates and nothing else. I once found a massive set in a thrift shop while on vacation and I nearly bought them but it would have been an insane shipping cost to get them home. I kind of regret I didn’t do it, though.
HotTubSexVirgin22@reddit
Still have one in use today.
LetsBeginwithFritos@reddit
This was our first set. Several family members saved and got me a whole set. Never loved them but they did the trick. Otherwise we would have had 2 plates and plastic cups.

These were the dishes my mom bought after she and my dad divorced (1986/87).
Twas a bit weird to see my dad's affair partner turned new wife have the same dishes at their house 🥀😀 I never said a word about it.

That pattern is so cute

I’ve never seen those plates in my life. These were the Corelle plates I saw.
osddelerious@reddit
Yep!
fearless-penguin@reddit
I STILL have and use daily those plates. The pattern is Golden Butterfly.
DirtRight9309@reddit
you are probably safe because it’s on the border but they did find that up to a certain year these do contain lead. i had a bunch of old corelle and i got rid of anything that had a pattern in the middle. if i had kids i definitely wouldn’t use any of it anymore.
fearless-penguin@reddit
Well damn… not particularly what I wanted to hear… but thanks for the info.
DirtRight9309@reddit
i know right? 😢 i was bummed

The Chinese resteraunt had some like these. And alot of roaches....
SailNW@reddit
This was the set at my Grandma's house for my entire life.
queenofcaffeine76@reddit
We had something similar to the flower plates and also had some of these. Never had a complete set of anything lol
LegitimateFeeling693@reddit
Right! Like why did my mother only have 1 big plate and maybe 1 bowl? She also had Cool Whip bowls too, so 🤷🏼♀️That nonsense bugged me so much that I have an extra, still-boxed, set of my dishes, so I’ll always have a full set even if a few break.
mobtown_misanthrope@reddit
My grandmother had Corelle Butterfly Gold. My mother had these (I still have a few pieces):

DirtRight9309@reddit
i’m so jealous. also username checks out
RabbitNumber8@reddit
Ha, it’s actually a Lost reference, but totally applicable here!
idle_isomorph@reddit
Wow, i had both OP's and these. Hadnt thought about them in years. What a flashback, though!
f4ttyKathy@reddit
My cat still uses the bowl :) I love this set!
RabbitNumber8@reddit
I don’t know what became of ours, which is now making me sad. I can still feel the bowl in my hands.
f4ttyKathy@reddit
If it makes you feel any better, the bowl especially is a very common find at flea markets/antique stalls. I could have replaced mine a few times over in the last 10 or so years of antiquing. So you could find a replacement :)
DirtRight9309@reddit
someone i know has that pattern but i cannot place who! maybe my uncle in Colorado because they don’t have Safeway where i grew up
we were a Corelle Butterfly Gold family
fenwoods@reddit
Pfaltzggraff — Yorktowne pattern.
My parents tried foisting off on me so much old crap I had no interest in, but then donated my beloved Pfaltzgraff to a church rummage sale without a second thought.
That was 20 years ago and I still haven’t forgiven them.
shortergirl06@reddit
They absolutely don't hold up to the dishwasher. The remaining ones we have are crazed to hell and back.
Aardet@reddit
This one was ours — still in daily use in my childhood home
867-53-oh-nein@reddit
I’m convinced nobody else bought these. But we had them. 🤣
lordskulldragon@reddit
I still use these.
Roobix9@reddit
We only had Corelle. This and a bunch of plain white ones to supplement.

WhitePink3556@reddit

PeanutbutterDaydream@reddit
My MIL still has this exact same set in blue in her cabinets.
electric-poptart@reddit

I love those! I’ve been collected any and all scalloped edge plates like these I find at thrift stores!
theluzah@reddit
You guys had other plates than these? Fancy!
Servilefunctions218@reddit
Did anybody else have these plates? My grandparents had the gold butterfly Corelle, but my mom had these “Aztec” design made in Japan.
RabbitNumber8@reddit
Oh, I found our Corelle!
Intelligent-Camera90@reddit
This was one of the sets we had when I was little
Competitive-Tea-3517@reddit
We had these ones too!
Pickles_McBeef@reddit
We had those, too! No Corelle, just the ones pictured.
walkshadow@reddit
And God forbid you drop one… you’re wearing shoes in the kitchen for WEEKS
Gullible-Apricot3379@reddit
We had plain white Corelle, and fancy dishes that were ivory porcelain with gold trim, and these:
RegionPurple@reddit
This was my mom's set... I bought SO MANY accessory dishes for her 🤣🤣
delphine1041@reddit
All you fancy bitches with your glass and stoneware dishes. We rocked the melmac in our spot. Just don't put them in the microwave!
PeanutbutterDaydream@reddit
Arcoroc Canterbury Crocus Floral Clear Glass, I remember my set also having matching coffee mugs. The texture on these were so bizarre.
f4ttyKathy@reddit
The small ones were our salad plates at dinner! Damn I wonder if my mom still has this set
Letsgogehls@reddit
We had 2 sets. I could only find this one.
When my mom redecorated the kitchen from blue w ducks as the border wall paper to green ivy border and a hunter green, cranberry theme.
She also changed out the corelle to a set that had green and pink checks on the border. If anyone knows which set I’m talking about please post a pic!!
Appropriate-Neck-585@reddit
My Grandma had these!

Letsgogehls@reddit
Then my mom redecorated to hunter green and cranberry and she changed up the corelle to these
TikiTikiGirl@reddit
We had these too! Likely also from Safeway (Canada). But we did not have Corelle. I don't know the name of the other two patterns we had, but one was stoneware with a blue-gray floral pattern, and the other was more porcelain with a white background and a black line-drawing floral pattern.
Fabulous-South-9551@reddit
These were ours. I use them now. I love them. I have the bowls and the small plates too.
Delgadoduvidoso@reddit
We had the Portmeirion Botanic Garden set. I always ate from the Venus flytrap plate.
