I can't grow a beard. I grow a see through moustache and a patchy spot on my chin. I shave once a week just to conceal that fact.

Y’know, I don’t think we’ve ever been told exactly how Riker kept the beard so perfectly trimmed, or how shaving works in the future at all… I bet it’s a sonic shaver or something over-complicated…

In my experience it's more work if you maintain a beard. It's way less work to shave, but I'd look 12 again.

Depends on how fast your beard grows. I'm able to go nearly a month and half just using a trimmer on my neck every few days before I need to trim the actual beard back into shape.

Meh. I just slap a number 4 on the clippers for the beard, a number 2 for the mustache, and then clean up any strays that grew above the main beard line. Do it every month or two and it looks pretty great.
